See it all depends on the level of sadhak. Just like a kid would need more repetition to remember something, same way new sadhaks needs sadhanas to be repeated.The energy/impact depends on your Gurumantra japa. Your Guru and Ishta Devata should be made strong enough so that any sadhan you do, thay back you up... thats the key in sadhana world.
