Can any of the respected Gurubhais please list out what are the various special sadhanas/prayogs that can be done with the help of a Parad Shivaling? Also, can any and all types of Tantric Sadhanas be done with a Parad Shivling or only sadhanas pertaining to Lord Shiva? For instance, if someone is doing a particular sadhana/prayog for Lord Shiva with/without a Parad Shivling, would there be differenced in the effectiveness of the sadhana and its results, in both the cases? Anand>> I don't think there is something like full and final list of sadhanas for Parad shivling as such. Sadhanas are many, and you may do sadhanas that you need OR like. Many sadhanas are spread over books and magazines, even if you collecet only from Gurudev's books and magazines, its a big task to collect and gather at one place. Looks like you have got a parad shivling and now want to start with some sadhana, and looking out for a full list, so that you can choose the best one you need. I am sorry, do not have something readymade for you !! Also, can any and all types of Tantric Sadhanas be done with a Parad Shivling or only sadhanas pertaining to Lord Shiva? Its difficult to tell the final effect, Say some sadhana, which is for Narmedeshwar shivling, and you do it on parad shivling (or vice versa) ... what will happen? Probably only Gurudev can comment on it. Secondly, Tantra is all about usage of material, yantra and mantra. Any changes in these for sure are going to affect the results. It really needs knowledge at Gurudev's level to start making changes in the standard process mentioned. ( Referance: Gurudev Nikhileshwarananda did some changes to some sadhanas mentioned by Guru Gorakhnath, to enhance their effect, to make it easy and more probable for success) So the bottom line is, "its possible to make changes, provided you know what you are doing". Also, can any and all types of Tantric Sadhanas be done with a Parad Shivling or only sadhanas pertaining to Lord Shiva? Anand>> I want to answer the second part of your question. On Shivling you can do sadhanas of Shiva. For Shiva's Shakti's sadhanas, along with Yantra usage, shivling poojan is also a part of sadhana, there you can use shivling. (kali, krutya, some Yakshini sadhanas) Of course any other devata sadhana has to be done in the prescribed way. Although doing shivling poojan and then doing any sadhana does not harm, in fact it will only gain blessing of lord shiva. To generalize, I can say, no matter what you do (any sadhana, any anushthan, any prayog, any mantra japa......) Guru poojan, and Ganesh Poojan is a MUST. After this, and befor the actual intended sadhana, anything you do (like shivling poojan, ishta devta poojan etc) are fine, and does not affect. Although there are special cases like, sabar sadhanas, where Gyatri mantra chanting should not be done while doing any sabar sadhanas. Such fine details should be discussed with Gurudev before doing any major sadhanas.
