Guest guest
Aradhna : i know Babaji over several years . He is all love ; he may sometimes get irritated and scold but that's all for our spiritual progress only . In the past , there were many times i used to feel the same way like you did but that was all wrong. Babaji started this group many many years ago - his mission is to only spread Love and spread the message of Santana Dharma. Babaji says 'Alakh Niranjan' how can he insult your guru ? i know babaji respects everyone in this group including you and me ! Why would he ever insult your Guru or any other guru ? Thats is not our babaji ! Aradhana, do you know what 'Alakh Niranjan' means ? Just as many Hindus greet each other with 'Namaste' , many Tantriks belonging to the Nath Sampradaya use the term 'Alakh Nranjan' while greeting each other ! so do Sikhs ! They use Alakh Niranjan just like HINDUS use 'Hari Aum' What does 'ALAKH NIRAANJAN' mean ? ALAKH: invisible, imperceptible, ultimate being NIRANJAN : untainted, pure It is also one of the Names of Lord Shiva! Why do Tantricks of the Nath order( whose founders were Goraknath and Matsyendranath ) use the greeting 'Alakh Niranjan'? What does 'Alakh' mean in Nath Tradition? 'UNTAINTED FREEDOM' - freedom from all types of Karmic bondage . These tantriks are sanyasis who want to reach the state of ultimate freedom - another word for Renunciation - why do we renounce ? to attain Frredom, is it not ? What a glorious concept - you give up ALL to attain something that is priceless! Freedom ! Here is a verse ALAKH NIRANJAN TUMHARO NAMA, SADA KARO BHAKTAN HITA KAAMA | NAAM TUMHARO JO KOI GAAVE, JANAM JANAM KE DUKH NASAVEY || O invisible, imperceptible ultimate being, your name is pure and untainted. You are always benevolent to your devotees. Whoever sings praises in your name, destroy their sorrows for many a lifetimes. Alakh Niranjan! PS - Aradhana Babaji has provided a lovely platform for all of us to assemble together in this holy satsangha to discuss Spirituality - LET US GROW IN ONE ANOTHER'S COMPANY! . Here is a Rumi verse The heart takes a certain nourishment from every companion, the heart is purified by every increase in understanding. Love and best wishes In , " i_free_spirit " <i_free_spirit wrote: > > Namaste . My sincere apologies to you for the

Urvashi dear thank you very much. this was splendid and i really did not know the meaning of alakh niranjan and was reluctant to ask. Please always tell such things even if no one asks, as there are many who are silent but reading these posts. by babaji you mean aum? yes I agree this is a wonderful group and we should share with love. I know Aradhna from YA she is a good soul, but sometimes becomes angry without reason. Aum gave me some good hints on controlling anger, and they worked well. Aradhna you also read them and try. ansuya

Guest guest
, " Aum " <beirut_ka_baba wrote: Dear Aumji, Namaskar! Here is one story of saint Rumi taken from TALES OF THE MYSTIC EAST published by RADHA SOAMI SATSANG, BEAS, PUNJAB. One day, Shams-i-Tabriz, the great persian saint, prayed earnestly to the lord, beseeching him, " O lord, please bring me some dear friend of yours to be my companion, to whom i may recite the tale of love and with whom i may share the agonies of divine separation and the joys of union. The lord, hearing this heartfelt prayer of one of his favourite sons, replied: " it will be my pleasure to fulfil your prayer, my son, provided you are willing to pay the price. " Shams-i-Tabriz understood what the Lord meant and immediately offered Him his head, thus getting rid of his ego and living in the will of the Lord. The lord then led his devotee to Quniya, the home of a celebrated professor of philosophy known there by the name of Maulvi Rum, and whom many know today as Jalal-ud-Din Rumi. When Shams-i-Tabriz saw the professor, he was seated next to a lake, pondering over some manuscripts. You appear to be very busy, O scholar, said Shams-i-Tabriz. " May I ask what is so seriously engaging your attention? " " Ah! these are priceless manuscripts, " said the professor. " In them are some of the deep, divine mysteries, insoluble by most of our eminent scholars. I am now engaged in solving them " . Sighing with weariness, he turned to his visitor, who was dressed in the coarse robes of a Sufi. " These are mysteries far beyond your comprehension, my good man, " he said, " for they are problems that only a highly trained intellect could ever hope to understand. " Shams-i-Tabriz smiled but said nothing. Instead, he stepped forward, took the manuscripts from Rumi's hands, and threw them into the lake. " Divine knowledge does not reside in books,my friend, " he said. The maulvi was both shocked and horrified at the loss of his beloved manuscripts. But he did not grow angry, as might have been expected. " What have you done, you uncouth dervish? " he asked in a sad and weary voice. " Whatever you may know, you would never be able to understand what a tremendous loss the world has suffered through the ruin of those rare manuscripts. " Again Shams-i-Tabriz smiled. Putting his hands in the water, he brought out the manuscripts undamaged. " Please, I beg of you, my friend, do not break your heart over such trifles as these, " he told Rumi. " These are mysteries beyond your comprehension. " Rumi saw that not a sheet of the manuscripts was wet. As an intelligent man, he at once understood that God had sent this dervish to show him the true path. He fell at the feet of Shams-i-Tabriz and begged him to accept him as his disciple. Shams-i-Tabriz gave him the secret of the " WORD " . Rumi then practised meditation and penetrated the deep spiritual mysteries. Today his MATHNAWI is regarded as the Qur'an of the Persian language. " Had it not been for the kindness of Shams-i-Tabriz, " writes Rumi, Maulvi Rum would never have become Maulana Rum. " The scholar would not have become a Saint. ------- Maulana and maulvi both mean 'learned man', but maulana is associated with sainthood or realized knowledge, as distinct from piety and book knowledge. -------- Hope this wets up your appetite for more of Rumi.
