I jiragavarapuji, I dont know much about rituals. But you must follow your own system, not something you read in the newspaper. Different people do calculations in different ways, & using different assumptions. Unless you know what assumptions the astrolger has made, better not to follow him, but continue your own course. love Shantnu

Guest guest
Have never heard of any necessity for changing the Yagyopavit after an eclipse. Yes, normally taking a bath after an eclipse is a practice. So 'changing of yagyopavit' and eclipse has no inter-relation,I feel. In this case as " Sharavan Poornima " (the day for changing of Yagyopavit) and eclipse was on the same day, I would understand that if the " Changing Ceremony " has been conducted before the " Start (Vedh) " of the eclipse (which was around 1pm IST on 16th ....actual eclipse time though was between 1am - 4 am of 17th morning), it is OK. More views are welcome..... Regards, Anupam
Guest guest
Today spoke to a friends regarding the issue of " Changing of Yagopavit " and came to know that there is a 'whole list of situations'(as per the books) following which a Yagyopavit change is recommended. To name a few.... - After any Sutak (birth or death) - After visiting cremation ground anytime - During/after any Shraddh Karma - After Grahan - On Shravan Poornima...........maybe some more.
