Guest guest
To Start with Devi Mahatmya (Chandi Paath) is great.....nice story of Devas and Asuras intertwined with " tantric vibes " :-) , " so hum " <jigyaasuu wrote: > > Dear learned sadhakas, > Pranam > During cource of discussions in this group emphasis has sometime been > laid to understand shaktism deeply in order to better understand Maa > shakti and Shiva. Still some other books like Shiv-sutra, books written by Sir Arthur Avalon and Pandit Gopinath Kaviraja are best to understand Shakti tattwa If you could lay your hands on Shakti Ank published by Gorakh Pur Press, that will give you all ideas about Shati Tattwa in one place love Aum

Guest guest
Thanks a lot Dear Aumji.......some of the readings suggested by you are available online and I am putting across the links..........ofcourse it asks for patient reading :-( The Philosophy of Tripura Tantra By Gopinath Kaviraj http://www.shivashakti.com/philtan.htm Shakti and Shâkta by Arthur Avalon (Sir John Woodroffe) http://www.sacred-texts.com/tantra/sas/index.htm And also here is an article that very nicely explains about the Origin and Procreation of the Ten MahaVidyas (Word File Attached) Moderator: doesnt allow attachments. You have to upload it into Files section. Regards, Anupam , aumji <no_reply wrote: > > of course Durga Saptshati is on top of the list. Guest guest
, " so hum " <jigyaasuu wrote: > > Dear learned sadhakas, > Pranam Tantric Yoga by David Frawley is proably the best book on the topic of Shakti/Tantra. Tripura Rahasya gives the Shakta version of Adwait(which doesnt reject Shakti as Maya). Durga Saptashati is the main text. The translation by Swami Satyananda Saraswati is the best, as he gives the hidden names of the demons- like Mahishasur is the " Great Ego " , Raktabeeja is " Seed of Desires " . The Serpent power by Arthur Avalon is a very difficult text, but very rewarding for those who do read it. Yogini by Shambhavi Chopra gives great explanations mixed with personal experiences by a master Yogini. with love Shantnu
