IDOL WORSHIP

OM NAMO NARAYANAYA

Dear venerable Sadhaks ,  I am tired of hearing and reading from  Christians and

Muslims  that idol worship is

fornication( even one English to English dictionary says so )

I explain Hindu system of worship as follows

 

" Kathopanishad says " Angadangat sambhavasi " (I have only a thimbleful knowledge

of Upanishads) Child is produced by father. So child exists in father till it

appears on the earth. Thet means anything created by God existed only  Him

before it appeared in material form in this world.. Any creation is thus a

manifestation and continuation of  of the Creator. If Creator should be

worshipped His Creation must also be worshipped. True worship is keeping the

person or object in deep veneration and esteem. God has not created any useless

or needless thing. Watering a plant,keeping a river without pollution , feeding

a hungry man, and maintaining ecological balance by conserving wild life  is

the  real worship. God exists everywhere. God exists in everything and

everything exists in God. . So anything is fit for worship. "

Dear senior Sadhaks   like Aumji,Shantnuji,Janfarahji,Ulaganathanji Deepaji,

Jituji and others  -- please give some more information about Hindu worship  to

help non Hindus to understand the philosophy of Hindu worship

Swamiji, why do you want to convert others? People who have hatred

will never change their mind, no matter what you say. Logic never

changes peoples mind, logic is merely a tool used to reinforce your

opinions.

 

If anyone has serious interest in any religon, they can find all the

information they want on the internet. They can also find information

to attack any religon. The choice is theirs!

 

All these things-idol worship is good or bad, God is 1 or many, Adwait

or dwait, these are games of the mind. The mind likes to divide

things, so it can continously analyse them. It likes to take a " side "

& fight the others.

 

 

We should focus on our own Sadhna, & not worry too much about what

others think.

in my opinion Hindu Gods/Goddes idol has certain meanings , which are

real and truth . but the essance of those meanings is gone because of

lack of interests in Kaliyug . Even educated Hindus are not able to

concentrate on the idol , because they lack in faith and Science could

not find anything in IDOLS .

 

The feelings are very much important while doing idol worship. Now

slowly slowly i have experienced what is the importance of Darshan ie

Darsan of Maan Vaishno Devi , or Lord Sri Krishan in Mathura temples .

Now i started concentrating on idol and i am developing the feeling of

Love for the God .Also i get knowledge about that God upon whom i

concentrate.

 

THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPT BEHIND THE IDOL WORSHIP IS THAT ONE CAN

CONCENTRATE ON THE GOD IN HIS FORM EASILY . THAN HE CAN GO FOR NIRGUN

AND NIRAKAR BRAHAM IF HE DESIRES .

 

Also when a person reaches into Heigher stage of Sadhana again He

faces problem in treating God in IDOL after gaining Knowledge.

in that situation IDOL WORSHIP IS THE MOST DIFFICULT .

 

also for your Question Shantanu Sir explained Beautifully that

everyone has different opinion / faith, we should concentrate on own

Sadhana
