Namaste,

Good point. Yes, this Thursday coincides with Pushya nakshatra and that is

auspicious. Thursday is owned by Brihaspati/Guru (Jupiter). Among 28

nakshatras, Pushya is owned by Jupiter. Not only that, tomorrow is Panchami

tithi, also owned by Jupiter. Thus, tithi, vaara and nakshatra are owned by

Jupiter tomorrow. It is a day with very strong Jupiterian influence.

In India, entire Thursday after 9 am has this combination. In US, this

combination exists until 4:20 pm on Thursday.

One can pray to Jupiter. Or engage in vedic rituals such as chanting

chanting veda mantras, doing any kind of homam etc. Jupiter is the foremost

of Brahmins and stands for Brahminical activity.

I am cc'ing this to after removing your name.

Best regards,

Narasimha

Namaste,

As per various dasa schemes, different nakshatras are mapped to different planets. In the popular Vimsottari (120 year) dasa scheme, Punarvasu, Visakha and Poorvabhadra are mapped to Jupiter and Pushya to Saturn as you say. But those are dasa schemes mapping nakshatras to planetary dasas. Vimsottari dasa is just one of many dasas. In each different dasa scheme, a different planet may be mapped to Pushya. All those are irrelevant.

One deity is mapped to each nakshatra in nakshatra sooktam. Those are the important controlling deities. For example, Aardra is ruled by Rudra. Punarvasu is ruled by Aditi. Pushya is ruled by Brihaspati. Aasresha is ruled by Sarpa. And so on. The rulerships as per nakshatra sooktam are the important ones.

For example, Suryopanishad says that chanting Suryopanishad when Sun is transiting in Hasta nakshatra is good. If you use Vimsottari dasa rulerships, Hasta is ruled by Moon. But, the actual deity controlling Hasta is Savita. That is why Sun's transit in Hasta is important. Like this, so many significant things are there in nakshatra sookta rulership of deities. For example, ruler of Sravana nakshatra is not Moon, but Sri Maha Vishnu. Sravana nakshatra has a significance in Vaishnava sampradaaya.
