Dear balaji / devotees,

This is the continuation of my earlier mail with some additional information.

The Praana Shakti (Vital Energy) of an individual which is spread across one’s

body, permeates 96 Angushta Pramanas in the body and 12 angushta pramanas above

the brahmarandra (the very subtle spot on our head).

When the person passes away, the Prana which permeates 96 angushta pramanas

(approx. inches) leaves the gross body. But the 12 angushta pramana prana which

is above the Brahmarandra would still remain as the subtle body (sukshma prana).

Hence, the Antya Kriyas of the dead person (the formalities of the dead

person) is performed for 12 days. Every day, this 12 inch pranas gets depleted.

And on the 12th day, when Vaikunta Samaradhana is performed, depending upon the

Karma (Action) of the dead person, the sukshma sarira (subtle body with vasanas)

ascends the higher world choosing either Devayana (Path of Light) or Pitriyana

Margas (Path of Darkness).

With regards,

sriram
