Dear members,

I have doubt with respect to the nyasas. When we say ....beejam ....shaktih

.....kilakam, which parts of the body does one need to touch? Does the order of

performing nyasa change with different mantras?

Request you to please advice.

Thanks,

Sudarshan

Dear sudarshan,

Generally the nyasa sthana for bIja, shakti and kIlaka are guhya

(place near muladhara), pAda (feet) and nAbhi (navel). Why because,

the bija is a capsule where the mantra chaitanya is in seed form.

This bija to germinate (ankura avastha), the nyasa at guhya sthana at

muladhara is done. Since, the feet bears the entire gravity of the

body (14 lokas incase of paramapurusha), it represents the shakti.

Nabhi or the navel is the pivot in the body as the entire nervous

system (nadi mandala) starts from Navel portion.

Now, as per rasasiddhanta samucchaya, for every tantric mantra, there

is a corresponding mUlikA vriksha (an ayurvedic tree). Mantra japa

should be done beneath the corresponding mulika vriksha. The rasa

bandhana (solidifying of mercury) of mercury is done alongwith

correponding mulika. When the upasaka does a mantra of a particular

mantra, corresponding rasa gutika (solidified mercury ball) is put in

the mouth of the upasaka while performing the japa of the mantra.

Then the mantra chaitanya is invoked very quickly and the result is

very fast in terms of mantra siddhi. The Bija thus invoked beneath

the corresponding mulika vriksha with the rasa gutika gives immense

results.

Thank you, Sriram, for the lucid explanation. I have seen some books giving the

nyasa sthanas for bija, shakti and kilaka as right and left sides of the chest

and the navel. Is this also accepted (although your explanation seems logical to

me)?

Dear Brother,

The bija sthana for each nyasa differs according to the energy factor of that

devatha and the relativity of the matruka akshara to the respective body part.

If you analyse all the 280 nyasas, you will find that the same matru akshara is

applied to different parts of the body to instal the devatha, its relativity

with the herbs representing that part and dieseas thereto. Therefore application

differs according to the nyasa requirements.
