Chandi Parayana during Navaratri

Dear members,

 

I wish all the members of this forum a HAPPY, BLISSFUL NAVARATRI. People

might be having various plans of worshipping Mother Divine either with Chandi

Parayana or with Sriyantra Puja.

 

Regarding the sapthasathi parayana, I follow the entire sapthasathi alongwith

shadanga on all the 9 days. However, some upasakas owing to their shortage of

time due to professional responsibilities in offices can follow the procedure

that is given below. This is also a pramanika procedure and belongs to sringeri

parampara.

 

Regarding sapthasathi parayana, it is the uttama lakshana to do the entire

parayana on all the 9 days. If it is not possible: it could be completed in 3 or

7 days.

 

 

Parayana for 3 days:

 

1st day: Purvanga and Prathama charita

2nd Day: Madhyama charita

3rd day: Uttama charita with uttaranga

 

 

Navakshari should be done everyday.

 

If the Parayana is for 3 days, then the same procedure must be continued for

4,5,6 similarly for 7,8,9th day also. So, entire 9 days can be split into 3

parayanas of sapthasathi. This is one method.

 

Parayana for 7 days:

 

 

1 day: Purvanga with 1 st chapter

2 day: 2, 3 chapter

3 day: 4 th capter

4 day: 5,6,7,8 chapter

5 day: 9, 10 chapter

6 day: 11 th chapter

7 day: 12, 13 chapter

8th day: Uttaranga

 

Navakshari mantra should be done everyday.

 

DURING THE PARAYANA PERIOD, THERE MUST BE AKHANDA DIPA IE., THE LAMP SHOULD

ALWAYS BE LIT.
