So, criticism is ruled out. I have just placed certain facts. People may or may not accept it, it is upto them. If hot spicy biryani and delicious rice porridge with saffron powder and cow ghee is served before a person, one would select either of the dish depending upon his nature (gunas). A tamasika person would go for biryani and sattvika person would go for rice porridge. Same is the case with mantra sastra and devatas. Pro-vedic is sattvika and anti-vedic is tamogunaatmaka. >
Guest guest
Dear sir, There is nothing like temple construction in Narayanpet. There is an old dilapidated siva linga in a house converted temple known by name " bhaskarji " temple which is situated in the dusty colony (as usual uncared like many other architechtural monuments). There is a family which conduct annual aradhana to this siva temple. This is the samadhi of upasaka in the lineage of Shri Bhasakaraya. A samputa of siva panchayatana and a small rasa (mercury) sriyantra is being worshipped by a family over there. My gurunatha worshipped this sriyantra and panchayatana for 3 days here in Narayanpet. For some unknown reasons, the commentary on Saubhagya bhaskara (abridged version) was written incomplete. After a short trip to this place, my gurunatha resumed the commentary and could complete it. It is interesting to note that Shri Bhaskara hailed from Hyderabad whose real name was Shri Bhaskar Rao (as it was named by south indians and maharashtrians). The sanskritised name has become Bhaskar rayah (rao has become rayah in sanskrit). Apart from strong and sound knowledge in Sanskrit, Marati, Shri Bhaskara knew the persian, urdu language and also arabic script. BTW, Shri Karra Agnihotra Avadhani (as he is usually called Karra Aganna garu) taught sanskrit and pancha kavyas to my grandfather at Mungandda agraharam of Amalapuram. Also, a srividya guru to my aunt's grandfather (Shri Nookala Satyanarayana Srouthi). Shri Aganna garu was felicitated by Shri Bala Gangadhara Tilak for his profound knowledge in Srividya and Mantra Shastra. Also, a close friend of my gurunatha. Shri Agannagaru's original manuscripts on Chidgagana Chandrika are with my gurunatha. This is a wonderful gloss on the commentary of Chidgagana Chandrika by name " Chakora Vyakhya " . This name is also wonderfully stuck because the bird chakora fully assimiliates the essence of moonlight (gagana chandrika). My mother saw shri aganna garu when he visited our own house in Kakinada. His only dress was a piece of loin cloth (kaupina) and always carries a tiger skin, kamandala alongwith him. Adorned with Bhasma, Kumkuma & Rudraksha mala, looked like Abhinava Durvasa in EG Godavari district. Shri Agannagaru's gurunatha's samadhi is in Moti Galli at Sultan Bazar, Koti, Hyderabad whose name is Shri Satchidananda Ghanendra Saraswati who roamed like lion in the forest of srividya. Head of Chintamani Mutt. As usual, this is also left uncared in a small dilapidated rama temple. Hope these details are enough. Guest guest
Dear kumar, Namaste. Yes I am talking of same Bhaskara Makhin who wrote the commentary " Saubhagya Bhaskara " . His name is Bhaskar Rao. He was born in Narayanpet (which was under the rule of Bahamani sultan and was under Bhagyanagar / Hyderabad regime). His father was the court minister of Bahamani Sultan who translated entire Mahabharata into Parsi language. The house where Bhaskara Makhin was born is still intact with the name " Bhaskar-ji " Mandir as I mentioned in my earlier post. Still there is 7th generation of Bhaskara which is maintaining the upasana. But these poor people are quite ignorant of srividya and mantra shastra. A very elderly lady who was unmarried approached one of our close circles of upasakas for solution. She was given " Swayamvara Kala Gowri " Mantra and within one year she got married. Shri Bhaskara rao was initiated into Srividya by Shri Sivadutta Sukla of Surat, Gujarat. Shed his mortal coil at Madhyarjunam (Tiruvidaimarudur). The Samadhi of Shri Bhaskara is still intact here and a small siva linga is installed over it. With regards, sriram , " Kumar Ramachandran " <kramach wrote: > > shrI gurubhyo namaH > shrI mAtre namaH > > dear sriram: > > When you talk about Bhaskararaya, are you talking about THE Shri Bhaskara > makhin ? > There may be some factual differences between your statement of his origins > and my understanding, per our ashram history. > > Please advise. > > shrI mahAgaNapataye namaH > > _____ > > On Behalf Of > sriram > Monday, February 02, 2009 4:39 AM > > Re: Bhaskararaya ashram in mahboobnagar > > > > Dear sir, > > There is nothing like temple construction in Narayanpet. Guest guest
shrI gurubhyo namaH shrI mahAgaNapataye namaH dear sriram: We are probabbly talking about different people, since the bhAskararAya that I know of hails from Maharashtra, not Hyderabad. Here is a short history. ----------------------------- Bhaskararaya (Bhaskararaya Makhin) (1690-1785) is widely considered an authority on all questions pertaining to the worship of the Mother Goddess in Hinduism. The worship of Shakti involves many hidden meanings of mantras and coded passages. It is said that these meanings were revealed to Bhaskararaya by the Goddess Herself. His works number more than 40 and range from Vedanta to poems of devotion and from logic and grammar to the science of Tantra. Three of his books are considered to be the holy triad on the worship of the Mother Goddess through what are considered her most secret mantras: * Varivasya Rahasya, is a scientific commentary on Sri Vidya mantra and worship. The Varivasya Rahasya contains 167 slokas numbered consecutively. It has an accompanying commentary entitled " Prakasa " , also by Bhaskararaya. * Setubandha is a technical treatise on Tantric practice. It is his magnum opus. It is a commentary on a portion of the Vamakesvara-tantra dealing with the external and internal worship of Sri Tripurasundari. This work was completed either in 1733 A.D. or in 1741 A.D.[2] * Lalitasahasranamabhasya is a commentary (bhasya) on Lalita sahasranama. This work was completed in 1728 A.D. His Khadyota ( " Firefly " ) commentary on the Ganesha Sahasranama is considered authoritative by Ganapatyas. Bhaskararaya was born in Bhaga in Maharashtra, India. His father was a great scholar who initiated his son in scholarly traditions at an early age. He was taken to Kashi (Benares) and put under the tutelage of a renowned Pundit. He was initiated into the Sri Vidya Mantra Upasana by Guru Shiva Dutta Shukla of Surat. A disciple king of his (Maratha king Sarabhoji of Tanjavur) invited him to the South and gifted him a whole village on the banks of the Cauvery river. Here he learnt Gauda tarka shastra under his guru Gangadhara Vajapeyi who was staying at Tiruvalangadu. The guru stayed in one bank of Kaveri and Bhaskararaya made the village on the opposite bank his headquarters for the rest of his life - in order to stay close to his guru. It later came to be known as Bhaskararajapuram During his stay there and the nearby town of Madhyarjunam claims of his spiritual and psychic greatness began through purported miracles. ---- Thanks.
