My dear friends and like minded persons

 

MAHAAKAVI KALIDAAS

 

I received an astonishing news that the Statue of THE GREAT INDIAN POET AND

ASTROLOGER MAHAAKAVI KALIDAAS is being installed/ or already installed in one of

the towns of China.

 

Our eye brows may be up with lot of joy and thrill for a while when one of our

great scholars is respected very humbly by a neighboring country. But surely

there is a message from this. It is time for all the Indians to think, rethink

of what we are doing to upkeep the glory of ancient India. In some parts of the

country, I see paper news, that the great regional poets statues installed years

ago are replaced by some political leader’s statues.

 

I have been writing about Ujjain and its Majesty in a number of my letters. The

Great Poet Kaalidaas is from Ujjain. I remember in one of my letters I

mentioned that a life time, say, 70 years, of stay in Ujjain will never be

sufficient to understand what Ujjain is and what it was. There is now another

important aspect with which we have to take things now. He is not a simple

poet, but he is a great Astrologer. His books are the guiding force – an

exceptional guiding force for most of astrology students like me.

 

Lord granted me and my wife opportunity of touring 70-80% of sacred places and

places of historical importance in India so far, but we could not see any

Astrological Scholar or Guiding force being worshipped in any temple, or in a

Dhyan Mandir or a place of worship. Hundreds and thousands of astrologers are

earning their bread and butter today in India and elsewhere, considering

ASTROLOGY AS THEIR PROFESSION. To be honest, the science is not of them nor can

they confidently claim to be the owners of the great Indian Science. Most of us

– including me – follow the authenticated texts of Kaalidaas but no where in the

places I visited, I found an astrologer or group of astrologers instituting a

Statue or Idol for worshipping or respecting the ancient great personalities of

Astrological sciences, may it be any one.

 

There may be some places and if any one can indicate me such, surely I will

visit such place and pay my respects to the Lotus Feet of such great

personalities.

 

Interestingly, Uttara Kaalamrutham –– based on an individual planet – RAHU – is

the only guiding force for people like me to suggest solutions to at least

hundreds of people suffering or suffered from planetary negative influences. To

the best of my knowledge, I could not find a better and authoritative

astrological reference other than the one written by Mahaakavi Kaalidaas.

Perhaps Mahaakavi knows the influence of Rahu better than any other person – the

guiding force being Mahaakaali. Though Rahu is a shadow planet, Mahaakavi

Kaalidaas could

identify it as a great and mighty planet which can influence human beings. For

Rahu – even the King of Planets – Lord Sun – is no exception at the time of

eclipse. That may be the reason why Mahaakavi Kaalidaas showed his gratitude to

the Great Planet through his works.

 

Though we are upasiks with the blessings of great Gurujis and we do not sell for

any reason our knowledge, we consider ourselves as laymen, yet, there are

prominent Astrologers in India and elsewhere, and now it is time for all of us

to recollect and remember the great Indian Saints who have contributed their

best to the field of Astrology and start worshipping them. Each astrologer may

try to get their address cards/letter heads/ panchangs etc. printed depicting

the pictures of Ancient Indian Astrological Saints at least from now on.

 

Probably then, we may derive some spirit from the Astrological Saints of Ancient

India, to help and astrologically properly guide present and future generations.

THEIR blessings are now a MUST for all astrologers to reestablish and reconfirm

that the Indian Astrological Science is not originated from a commercial point.

BUT THE ANCIENT SAINTS OF INDIA DEVELOPED THIS SCIENCE SURELY WITH A SUPPORTIVE

AND HELPING HAND TO THE ASTROLOGICAL SUFFERERS. Astrology is not a fault finding

mechanism, but PURELY A REMEDIAL SCIENCE like Ayurveda.

 

This is what least we – the astrologers – could do now, keeping in view of what

China did. From my side, I desire to institute a trophy in the name of

MAHAAKAVI KAALIDAAS to honor at least one astrologer every year. I respectfully

pray the Great Saints – Astrological Saints of Great India, to forgive me for my

ignorance on this important aspect. My eyes are now opened on this most

important subject. Thanks to China. The first such trophy will be planned to be

delivered to a person who has contributed his best to the astrological science

beyond commercial interest, on the eve of the forthcoming GEETHA JAYANTHI – the

bright eleventh day of Margasira Maas on which day exactly last year- 2005- we

started our historical mega event Shri Aswamedhayaagam.

 

Let the Historical event SHRI ASWAMEDHAYAAGAM’s anniversary create another

historical land mark. Kindly suggest us suitable names for the proposed MAHAA

KAVI KAALIDAAS GNANA RATNA AWARD, so that they can be presented to our Guruji

for his decision.

 

This is all what a small person – an individual like me can do to the Great

Personality of Indian Culture.
