Guest guest
Most people today have this problem - we just cannot control our mind, so don't think you are alone. The problem is that throughout the day, we are continuously using our mind, thinking about numerous things and by the end of the day, we are completely drained. This is because we do not stop to recharge the mind, or the battery, in other words. There are mainly 4 types of thoughts that run around in our mind daily - positive, negative, waste and necessary. As you can guess, we humans think more negative (inspired by anger, ego, jealousy, greed etc.) and waste thoughts than positive thoughts (inspired by love, understanding, forgiveness, all the good stuff). No one gives much importance to thoughts but they are our greatest asset. Even science, something we practically worship, was born out of ideas, thoughts and we humans have this treasure. USE IT WELL! These two things, negative and waste thoughts, are like weeds. As you know, weeds do not harm the plants directly, but they absorb the nutrients from the soil and so, there is nothing left for the plants. Similarly, the more we think negatively or wastefully, we lose inner strength and then, when we want to be positive, we want to do a good action, there is no inner drive left. The more we think positive about ourselves and our actions, we regenerate our energy and then any action will be successful. Maybe now, things do not look good, but the more you train the mind, the more it will work for you. This new attitude about life needs to be developed. So, atleast 5 times throughout the day, sit back and think good thoughts for a few minutes. Think about how we are playing our individual roles in life but we are different, we have our own specialities, values, etc. When we concentrate, we use our mind and intellect together. One without the other is useless. Sometimes when we are reading and someone later asks what we just read, we go blank because we were only using the mind while reading, the intellect was off wandering somewhere. Whatever work we are doing, we need to visualise it, not just superficially think about it. This is in fact meditation - learning to control your mind, concentrate on what you want. Meditation does not only mean sitting on top of mountain, and forgetting the world. But, it is the method of living in the world and yet not getting lost in it. They are a number of things we see, hear and do throughout the day, but we need to control what goes inside the mind.
