Guest guest
My dear friends and like minded persons I am now recovering from illness after returning from USA and trying to actively participate in routine matters. On 25th I left for Delhi to attend to certain meetings. In the night of 25th one of the TV channels was telecasting flash news and incidentally I had an opportunity of seeing it. It was telecasted around 8.30p.m of 25th of August. I was shocked to see a two and half year child driving a Hero Honda Motor Cycle sitting in front of his father and independently driving the vehicle at a higher speed on a National High Way. Unfortunately the viewers were clapping at the incident and the incident was recorded for over fifteen minutes by the channel. I do not see any point for appreciating the child; actually his father should be taken into custody for prosecution for allowing such a small child to drive a high speed vehicle like Hero Honda on a National High Way. We have unfortunately no mechanism to arrest such trends, nor the vehicle inspectors are that alert to stop the vehicle and verify the driving license. This is the saddest of the stories where Government Machinery utterly failed. I do not know whether the Vehicle Inspectors collected the records to proceed against the Child and his father. In the same channel, immediately after the aforementioned incident, one owner of Maruti 800 vehicle drove the vehicle on National High Way. It was also a fifteen minutes or so record which was telecasted by the same channel soon after telecasting the aforementioned. This is a different incident where the Owner preferred to drive his vehicle sitting in the rear seat and reading a news paper. He had a wooden stick in his hand with which he started controlling the steering. I do not know how and in what fashion speed was controlled. I am also puzzled to understand as to how he is able to see the traffic on the road. When use of Cell Phone itself is prohibited, which is considered to divert the attention of the driver leading to accidents, I am very much worried as to why traffic police left this incident. The driver deserves all punishment and I do not know why he is treated as a hero in the channel. These incidents clearly speak of the inefficiency of the administration. It is not known when and how the administration gets toned up in the best interest of the public. I shall be back again soon………………… Yours affly HARA HARA MAHADEVA DR P V SESHA SAI ASWAMEDHAYAAJI Dr P V Sesha Sai Aswamedhayaaji 1-9-52/F/3, MCH No 2859, Road No 19, Ramnagar, Hyderabad 500020 Web www.ashwamedhayaagam.org, blogspot http://aswamedhayaaji.blogspot.com E mail shodasisai, shodasisai 6th September 2007
