Guest guest
A REPORT ON MINI CONVENTION OF WORLD BRAHMAN ORGANIZATION HELD AT HYDERABAD ON 2ND DECEMBER 2007 I feel I am privileged to write a report on the Mini Convention of World Brahman Organization at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh on 2nd December 2007 at Hotel Akshay, Himayatnagar. Dr Shyam Narayan Shukla, Patron of WBO and Mrs. Shukla, Dr Surendra Pandey – Vice President (International Affairs of WBO) took all pains to fly from USA for this Convention and they reached Hyderabad by 1st evening. Shri R D Dixit - Vice President of WBO and Shri Mahant Narayana Giri Maharaj too arrived specially for this Convention. Dr Sangam Mishra, President of WBO too reached Hyderabad from Jaipur. A Week ago, I met Shri Mahant Narayana Giri Maharaj at Ghaziabad and specially requested him to attend the Mini Convention and in spite of his busy schedule with the activities of All India Sadhu Samaj for which he is the General Secretary, he reached Hyderabad on 1st December 2007. The Mini Convention commenced at the scheduled time when the traditional band welcomed the delegates. Shri B S Murthy, Bhuvaneswar(Orissa) Brahman Samaj; Shri Sattur, Hubli(Karnataka Brahman Samaj); Shri Sampat Kumar – Prakasam District Brahman Samaj of Vaikhanasa; Shri Varada Raja Bhattacharya – Machilipatnam District Brahman Samaj of Vaikhanasa; Brahman Seva Sangh Samakhya ( A registered body of Brahmans in the state of Andhra Pradesh) with its large net work and branches affiliated with WBO while Shri Madhusudhanaacharyulu representing Shri Vaishnavaites; Shri Mudigonda Sankara Sarma – Lingayat; and many other eminent personalities including Dr S Venugopalachari – former Central Government Minister and former MP; Shri S V Rao ( a leader for Brahman Unity Movement) and several other prominent Brahmans attended the convention. The hall was packed up with delegates all around the state of AP and also from neighboring states. The first ever Mini Convention of WBO in the South India was a grand success while all delegates welcomed the WBO and joined their hands for the strength and unity of Brahmans. Since I desired this convention to take place and convened the meeting, I took lead in administering and managing the stage to conduct the proceedings. The Jyothi Prajwalan took place while all the prominent personalities of WBO came especially for this purpose lit the Holy Lamp amidst Vedic Chanting. Shri Annadaanam Satyanarayana Murthy Vice President Nominate of Andhra Pradesh Wing of WBO, and Shri V Venkata Narayana Organization Secretary nominate of Andhra Pradesh Wing along with Shri Anand Suri president of Brahman Seva Sankh Samakhya were introduced to the President of WBO. Every one reiterated the need to upkeep the tradition and Brahmanic values so that the present and future generation remains attached with the Community Development Programs in the best interest of Social Cause and welfare of the Society. I was to impress upon all the delegates that a Brahman is nothing but a PURA – HITA which means SANGH HITA – in other words who looks for the welfare of the society. I requested for setting up a uniform Panchang all through the country and introduce the Vedic literature which is primarily required for a Brahman so that all rituals are performed uniformly through out the country giving no scope for confusion and distrust on the methods of rituals. As a Chief of SAINTS – the School for Scientific Analysis on Indian Traditional Systems, I assured the delegates that I shall strive hard for conducting research on Indian Traditions so that the future generation is impressed upon the need to remain attached to the Brahmanic Values. Dr Sangam Mishra spoke on the future course of action of WBO while Dr Shyam Narayan Shukla briefed the delegates on the concept of WBO and need for Unity. Dr Surendra Pandey told the delegates as to how the WBO is spreading all through the Universe with its branches and affiliations of the Brahman Organizations in different countries. They gave a briefing of what has been done at Washington DC on May 26th and 27th this year in the Convention. Shri Mahant Narayana Giri Maharaj spoke on Brahmanic Values and establishment of Vedic Schools. He informed the delegates as to how his Vedic School is functioning in tune with Modern Education. Shri Parimi Ramakrishna Sastry and his wife were taken to the dais for honoring them. Shri Sastry is a scholar on Shri Ramayana and dedicated his life to Sundara Kanda Paarayana. For the past forty years plus, he toured extensively in India and made people to know the inner meaning of Sundara Kanda. He wrote several books on the Hindu Dharma and distributed them free of cost. He and his wife were honored with clothes while he was respected with Swarna (Gold), Rajatha (Silver), Muthya (pearls), Sankh (conch) and Navaratan abhishek. Similar respect was also given to Shri Mudigonda Sankara Sarma who dedicated his life in Shri Linga Archana relating to Lord Shiva. Shri R D Dixit distributed Awards to the selected delegates and prominent personalities. There were three kinds of awards in the name of Brahman Ratna, Brahman Pramukh and Brahman Seva Priya. Some of the delegates were given opportunity to express their views and at the end the meeting concluded with lunch. In the evening of 2nd important delegates were invited to Raj Bhavan to meet His Excellency Shri N D Tiwari – Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Though it was late in the night, important delegates left for Srisailam to have darshan of Jyothirling – Shri Mallikarjuna Swamy and one of the 18 sakti peethams of Goddess Bhramaramba. The next day i.e. 3rd December was the last Monday of Kartik Month considered very very auspicious for worshipping Lord Shiva. There were laksh of pilgrims and Sri Sailam was jamn packed with vehicles and visitors. In spite of all this, the delegates were fortunate to have a comfortable darshan with the interference of the State Government. By 3rd mid night the entire team of delegates was returned to Hyderabad. Shri P V R K Prasad IAS (Retd) a prominent personality and from Madhwa Sect of Brahmins with lot of respect to Brahmanic Values was also invited to the Mini Convention. Due to his visit to other places, he could not reach Hyderabad by 2nd and he invited the delegates to his home. Accordingly Dr Shyam Narayan Shukla, Mrs. Shukla, Shri R D Dixit, and I reached the home of Shri P V R K Prasad on the evening of 4th. Shri Prasad expressed his satisfaction on the activities of WBO. Dr Shukla requested Shri P V R K Prasad to help the WBO with his suggestions and thus Shri Prasad agreed to remain as Special Advisor to the WBO. There was a wide coverage of the tour of the delegates in the press and the media highlighted the activities of the WBO in the news through Paper and also through Channels. The report thus is delayed for want completion of the trip as per schedule plan of tour and conduct of the meeting. The first ever Mini Convention of World Brahman Organization thus was very successful and created enthusiasm amongst the new generations.
