Sankata Hara Chaturdhi and Hanuman Jayanthi

My dear friends and like minded persons,

 

Re: Sankata Hara Chaturdhi on 24th May 2008 & Hanuman Jayanthi on 30th May.

 

I desire to make a small note on the activities that are taking place at Shri

Brahma Maanasa Sarva Sidhi Kshetram, perhaps the only one temple dedicated to

Lord Brahma and Goddess Saraswathi (together). We find many temples for Goddess

Saraswathi in different parts of the country and a temple for Lord Brahma at

Pushkar in Ajmer. But in the temple managed by us in the name of Shri Brahma

Maanasa Sarva Sidhi Kshetram within the municipal limits of Hyderabad is

presenting itself in a unique manner when all the three Lords – Brahma, Vishnu,

and Maheswara are present together with their wives Goddess Saraswathi, Goddess

Mahalakshmi, and Goddess Parvathi while the presiding deity is Goddess

Rajarajeswari along with Goddess Durga and Goddess Annapurna. More details can

be had from the blogspot specially meant for this.

 

Today (24th May 2008) is Sankashta Hara Chaturdhi. Every fourth dark day is

treated as Sankashta Hara Chaturdhi when Lord Lakshmi Ganesh is specially

worshipped through out the country praying for fulfillment of wishes and for

REMOVING OBSTACLES. It is also called as Sankata Hara Chaturdhi. Sankata –

means problems; hara means – absorbing or diluting or removing etc. According

to Ganesh Atharva Seershopanishad – any one who could offer 1000 modaks for Lord

Ganesh is expected to have smooth sailing in all affairs. Years ago I was

observing this day as Utmost Holy day and I used to offer 1000 modaks, but then

on many occasions I faced problems for the total consumption of the Modaks and

for distribution of the same to the devotees. And many a times, we could not

consume the modaks totally. Ultimately I found a solution of offering the same

to the Agni – Havan. This helped us in complete utilization of all the Modaks

offered to Lord Ganesh without any wastage or

surplus. Therefore, I changed the system and started offering the Modaks to

the Agni duly chanting the Mantra of Lord Ganesh. This time too I enjoyed

offering of the 1000 modaks (may be around 2000 plus) to Lord Chintamani

Ganapathi through Havan.

 

Future Program

 

1) We are planning to perform Shri Hanuman Jayanthi on 30th May at the

temple duly worshipping Lord Hanuman using pan leaves and offering of Vada

Maala. We also desire to perform Abhishek to Lord using Rose Water.

2) The next Sankata Hara Chaturdhi would take place on Sunday, the 22nd

June 2008. We will be performing Havan to Lord Ganesh using 1000 plus modaks as

is being done every time. Lunch and food distribution is being planned on that

day.

 

Those who are interested to get their names included in the above, may please

done by us, would be done praying for the welfare and well being.
