Good Day !!!

The Nine Nights of Goddess, called Navaratri, is a powerful

opportunity for those interested in both spiritual and material

pursuits. It is a time for physical and mental rejuvenation and to

tune in to creative energies that make themselves abundantly

available during these nine nights. Celebrated with great devotion

and happiness in the Vedic tradition, it represents a time of hope

for humanity to realize happiness be it money, relationship or self-

discovery and realization.

The saying 'behind every successful man there is a woman' is very

true. It is the feminine energy that is behind every creation as well

as destruction. The feminine sustains this universe. By tuning into

the creative energies during Navaratri, one can prosper and be happy.

Of the nine days, three days are dedicated to each of the Goddesses,

helping to tap into a specific, vibrant and creative life energy

prevalent on those days. During the first three days Goddess Durga

helps to annihilate fear or enemies both internal and external. She

helps to dispel darkness in terms of evil tendencies from your life.

The second set of three days is dedicated to the Goddess Lakshmi who

symbolizes all that is connected to material abundance and

prosperity. Goddess Saraswati provides true knowledge to those who

pray to her sincerely. This true knowledge not only helps us in our

academic and intellectual pursuits but also the true purpose of human

life and how to move ones consciousness from form-based existence to

the infinite, formless.

September 30th – Navratri, Festival of Nine Nights begin.

October 5th – Durga Puja Begins - Durga Sashti puja.

October 6th, 2008 – Maha Saptami Puja/ Saraswati Avahan Puja in some

parts in North India

October 7th – Durga Ashtami Puja.

October 8th, 2008 – Navratri Ends. Mahanavami Puja/ Saraswathi Puja

and Ayudha Pooja in South India

October 9th – Vijaya Dashami and Dusshera

Please note that the dates are based on Indian Standard Time. Some

calendars are indicating that Navratri festival in United States and

Canada begins on September 29. The rest of the dates are indicated as

same as in India.
