Tourism - the need of the day

Tourism in India

 

Many a times I was mentioning about Tourism in India.  It is for the simple

reason that India is of Historical Importance and dated back to “unknownâ€. 

Lord blessed me and my wife to tour most parts of the country – perhaps we

have covered more than 40-50% of the entire country and during the course of our

visits, we found a historical village or town one in every ten villages, which

means most of the country is of Historical Importance, in spite of the fact that

many a times, the structures, culture, ancient traditions – and all were

subjected to trails.  And amidst all today we are in a position to witness the

historical facts and get ourselves convinced that the country dates back to

immemorial.  It is a fact and none can dispute.

 

Today, some of the countries of recent origin say two hundred or three hundred

years or a thousand years are preserving their history and excel themselves that

they stand in history and they have rich heritage.  We have nothing to dispute

on their stand.  Only thing is that WE – basically, Indians should know to

preserve the ancient structures and protect them from further damage.  One

gentleman in one of the Museums in the Western Countries told me that there is

nothing to see fresh in the museum and he asked me to convey a message to all

Indians that History started in India, History is revealed from and out of the

ruins and such history has to be protected by the present and future

generations, lest the country is lost in the History. Unfortunate, we do not

show any concern to our heritage.

 

It might be twenty five years ago or so, I brought out a topic in the News

Papers on the subject relating to “Tourism to Cover the Balance of Paymentsâ€

while referring to the adverse payment position of the country.  Tourism shall

always be a fine “INDUTRY†if declared and it can provide surely employment

opportunities to millions and it is shall ever remain as a challenging Industry

in the country and at no point of time it can be threatened of crisis.  It adds

up to refinement of infrastructure and provides better living standards even in

villages. 

 

For some reason or the other, let us presume that the Government can not do –

do not wish to do – will not do – anything on its own. 

No problem, the Government can explore all possibilities of income generating

activity by leasing the places to Corporate Giants who are always after better

business opportunities and who knew well to en-cash the situations.

 

It is a multi dimensional step which the Government can surely think of

materializing. I can provide enormous amount of information for those who need

since I liked Tourism in India and I have been touring since forty five years

plus till date.
