Guest guest
Dear Srividya worshippers, It is my endevaour to post whatever little I know to all. And especially of my Gurunatha. Swami Rajagopala was born to orthodox Srivaishnava family in Chennai. He was not the first son but his mother went to one Sorrakai swami (who was a great Narasimha yogi) and also his Reddy disciple yogi. Both were not brahmins but were high level yogis and commanded the respect of brahmins and especially this pious and innocent lady. She ventured to Him and used to pay her respects. He immidieately got pleased at her devotion and showed her Lord Rama and Narasimha in his Chest. She was dumbfounded and her devotion grew in intensity. And he said to her one day, " Mother! a divine child will be born to you. Please take care " This then was the rishimoola of Rajagopala swami. The boy grew up as a normal kid. At the age of 5 one yogi came to Chennai in those days. He was very tall and had 'bhasma' smeared all over his body. He was none other than Lord Dattareya Himself. But the people did not know and one family accomodated him in a big building next to Swami's humble dwelling. Being a child and curious to know who this strange man was he kept going into the house everynow and then. The yogi called him. But the kid(swami) would run away in shyness. This happened many times. Then the yogi got up and caught hold of the kid and took him to a well and poured a bucket of water on his head and then wrote a mantra on a piece of paper and also correctly spelt it in his ears and also made the young kid spell the mantra. The boy spelt it. Then he looked into his eyes and said, " will you do this mantra? " . The boy replied meekly, " Yes " . The yogi then said, " Good! Devi will walk seven steps behind you always after this " . And the yogi was nowhere to be seen. The boy who was dazed had the piece of paper in his wet hands and memorised it and told this incident to none. Little did he realze that the mantra was the powerful and original MAHASHODASI MANTRA!!!!Which is said to be hard to get even for Devas and also highly secretive. Even Shodasi is said to be of lesser significance than MAHASHODASI! ......................To be continued in next posting.................. -------Subodha
