Dear Shaktha pramodas and pramodinis,

(Sarvamangal Rajarajeshwaree of Nanganallur,chennai)

I atlast went to my dear temple in Nanganallur and had the darshan of my gurunatha first and then the divine mother and it was late night(pournami) but my gurunatha waited till my lalitha trishati and lalitha sahsranama archana was over. I also chanted lalitha sahsranama in the sanctum sanctorum with my wife , who joined me. It was truly an elevating and divine experience for both of us.Only divine mother knows how much I cried back home for Her.

I am back now and will get my internet connection for the few months I stay in India and will take care of the group in an organised manner from next week. Sorry Babithaji. This group will again resume it's past gloryof posting regularly. I thought people will contribute very well even in my absence but it seems all are busy and need a goad to exhort them to contribute more to divine mother.

Iam very happy that two members and my dear friend mukund have started tithing their money to the temple. I have been responsible in a minute manner for my Mother!!

Please read my postings on dasamsa(tithing and it's benefits for the temple).

While Iam here I can buy some books on the temple in (Hindi, telugu, tamil, english) and send the same for known people to me.Iam planning to send some material on the temple in telugu, english and hindi to shivanigaaru and tamil, hindi and english to mukundji of usa. I hope both will or either one will scan and put the file in our group for all to see the story of the temple and swamiji.

I will also try to scan and post it.I will post regularly on thursdays and sundays (IST) Please post on other days too. One member even withdrew his membership in my absence. I requested him to join back again and he joined back. Please do not put me on a high pedeatsl or depend on anyone heavily(expect your guru) for the spiritual path. These are my sincere words.

The taoist canon says: Sincere words are never sweet and sweet words are never sincere. I try to be sincere here and say that " Iam not your guru" Please follow your gurunatha for advice and support and consider this group to be just a guiding light in the path of spiritual darkness. And please do not take me too seriously and arrogate me to a high status. ------

Today's posting:

Today I venture to give little known information on the connection of prathyangira and Rajarajeshwaree devi. This is in deference of the wishes of one member and nirajji.

For me after researching on so many devis, devas and spiritual paths(from christianity to taoism from islam to buddhism) I have come to the conclusion that Rajarajeshwaree devi encompasses all. I also had some taoistic etheric talks with the devi which vouchsafes to me that She knows ALL....I LITERALLY MEAN ALL. The only limitation being Her form as anything with form will have a minute defect. But for all praticla purposes She is infinite.

Faith knows no logic and logic knows no faith. If one understands this and hooks on to faith then his wagon is hitched to the cosmos. Th parabrahmam.

Parthayngira was the ugra avatara rupam of parvathy to qeunch sharabheshwara ugra rupa. But little know is the fact that this emnation was because of saints who prayed to Rajarajeshwaree devii who then gave Her shakthi to Parvathy devi to form the ugra prathyangira rupa. Else can pavrathy dare to make shiva quiver? Only Rajarajeshwaree devi has such guts and glory!

The wrath of Rajarajeshwaree devi is greater than even Kali. I enjoin people to look beyond mere forms and just because a deity looks terrible she should not be considred powerful and just because a deity is 'saatvic' looking she should not be considered to be powerless. This is an affront to the inherent divinity in them. And will act to your detriment only.

Rajarajeshwaree is divinely beautiful. She has a saffron white complexion and large eyes and big breasts and huge posterior and shapely waist. Her voice is very musical. Her tresses are long and beautiful. Many devotees have even lusted divine mother because of this erotic appearance. This is but natural and She understands it but this should not beguile a person to think she is all soft, gooy, mushy-mushy type godess. She can kick ass!(putting in a bit of americanism!)

The mantra for prathyangira devi is HRAM KSHAM PRATHANGIRAYA SWAHA and will protect from all evil magic and black magic done to stop progress in one's life if one does this mantra 10008 times daily. One need not go to any temple. Just a lemon and this mantra is enough. One can chant this mantra in the night and focus on the lemon and remove the black magic from one self and then crush the lemon on the shula of prathyangira devi or any other devi once it is over. while the chanting is being done one needs to visualise a violet fire in the heart burning.

The symbolism of prathyangira is closely connected with srividya worship also. Prathayangira is one of the avarana deities in the sri mahameru (avarna means a petal) and the centre spot(bindu) being the residing place of Sree Rajarajeshwaree devi.

Rajarajeshwaree shri avarana puja

One should take one's rosary, which may be made of pearl, beautiful emeralds, lotus seeds, rudrakshas, crystal, coral, ruby, red sandalwood and so forth. Having made oneself like Tripura, smearing oneself with kumkum, aguru, camphor and musk, one should recite the mantra 100,000 times. This liberates one from great sins - Vamakeshvarimatam V, 8-10

This daily puja of Shri Rajarajeshwaree avarana puja is drawn from a variety of sources including Subhagodaya, the Vamakeshvara Tantra, the Gandharva Tantra and the Dakshinamurthi samhita

A special note on rudraksha mala japa:

Rudraksha Malas

Chanting mantras has been used for thousands of years by yogis throughout India and the Himalaya as a means of activating kundalini, achieving special powers or “siddhis” such as profound intuition and insight, and increasing their vibrant or radiant energy (aura).

Practicing mantra meditation can create and enhance your vibrant energy. Your vibrant energy depends on your ojas power. If you have enough vibrant energy you can pass your good pranic energy to those low in energy, sick or in need. Only if you have raised the level of your vibrant energy can you successfully project it to others.

The Mala

A mala (Sanskrit for garland) is a meditation tool, used to count the number of mantra repetitions completed per sitting. Mantra repetition using a mala is an effective way of keeping your mind focused, and can make meditation more relaxing and soothing by relieving physical tension.

Historically, malas have been used as a part of an integrated spiritual practice that may also contain hatha yoga, puja (worship) and other practices.

A mala contains 108 beads and a larger “meru” bead. The tassled “meru” bead is symbolic of the transcended state, and indicates the beginning and end of a cycle. The significance of “108” is because the Brahmand (universe) is made up of 108 elements (and according to modern scientific chemistry, the universe is made up of more than 108 elements). So 108 represents the universe.

Malas worn around the neck are 108 or 54 beads. A japa mala of 27 beads is very useful in daily life for chanting mantra, as it is small and portable. Precaution : before starting any practice using a new mala it must be empowered and energised by an expert or scholar of the subject.

Using a Mala

Sit in the Lotus position, Sukhasana, Vajrasana or any comfortable posture facing north or east. Keep your back straight and make a Gyan mudra with the left hand. Hold the mala in your right hand, over the middle finger.

The index finger should not touch the beads. Starting at the meru, pull the beads towards you, one by one, between your thumb and middle finger, and chant your mantra according to your body type constitution. (constitutional mantra).

The mantra is repeated silently, internally for most effect. One bead is pulled per mantra repetition. If the mind wanders, bring it back to the breath, the beads and your mantra. .Once you reach the meru, you do not cross it. Turn the beads around and continue in the reverse direction.

The Special Qualities of Rudraksha Malas

Although mala beads can be made from many materials, in the Vedic literature, rudraksha beads have particular importance.

Rudraksha beads are the seeds of the fruit from the Rudraksha tree (Elaeocarpus Ganitrus Roxb) found in a few locations throughout Indonesia, Nepal and India. The word Rudra is the name of Lord Shiva and aksha means eyes - meaning the “eyes of Shiva” and the Vedas tell us that rudraksha beads are endowed with medicinal and spiritual powers.

The rudraksha has been utilised in Ayurveda for medicinal purposes such as controlling blood pressure and mental diseases. The beads have dielectric (store electrical energy) and magnetic properties which can effect a positive change on the bio electrical field of the human body.

Yogis and adepts of India and the Himalayas have worn rudraksha beads for thousands of years because of their special powers and ability to enhance meditation practice.

Rudraksha malas of 108 beads are most commonly made from 5 faced beads (5 mukhi) and are normally worn for general happiness, prosperity, and the continuation of spiritual progress and development. It is said that by wearing these beads one achieves a peaceful tranquil mind and also focus and concentration.

Generally Panchadasi mantra meditation involves chanting out loud at first until the body is calm and the atmosphere around oneself is serene and pleasant for meditation. Then whisper meditation almost automatically occurs and the life force begins to withdraw inward from "out-loud" chanting to whisper chanting. In whisper chanting the prana, the life force in the body, is balanced and harmonized, preparing the way for a deeper state of serenity — and of the balance of mind and emotions. Whisper chanting easily dissolves and the life force moves even deeper within as you enter mental chanting. Mental chanting is practiced as long as thoughts are occurring to the mind. Whenever the mind is distracted, the mantram is simply chanted in the same area of the mind that the distraction is occurring. The Panchadasi mantra

always wins if given a chance.

As the mantra frees you from one thought, then another, and also helps to dissolve distractions, the mantram then begins to reach the border of superconsciousness. Chanting becomes effortless. No effort, nor warding off distractions, is needed. Chanting becomes a pleasure. Peace and gentle joy fill your mind.

May Sarvamangala Rajarajeshwaree Devi of Nangainallur Bless all who have patiently read this posting.

At Her holy feet,

Yours yogically,
