Guest guest
dear maheshji, i think i have an answer to the 3rd question you posted and it was on lord parasurama.lord never killed his mother, the venerable bhagawathy renuka.she had gone to help the gandharva race who were afflicted with leprosy.she decided to stay with their king in order to help them.this decision upset lord parasurama's father the mighty sage jamadagni as it went against the rigid customs of the brigus.lord parasurama himself went to the mountain where the gandharvas were living with renuka and offered them a choice.they would give up their own lives or would witness her killing the gandharvas could not bear to see their mother being killed so they gave up their own lives.by the time he returned jamadagni ordered her killing.lord resisted.then renuka rebuked him for disobeying his father and ordered him to seek forgiveness.the sight of rama kneeling at his feet pleading forgiveness shook jamadagni out of his trance.he forgave both of them. there are conflicting stories on the lives of the vedic seers. this is the version i was told. please read " bhagwan parashurama " by munshi published by the bharatiya vidya bhavan.it shows them in a more human way. on the question of human sacrifice i wish to say that every race went through several changes before it became a civilization. we were no exception.however in our case narabali was stopped early on by sage vishwamitra.it has never happened since then. there is no point in explaining this to others who criticise. they will always pretend not to understand. thanks, mark
