Guest guest
Dear Members, Sivane potri sivandiyen potri! Thiruchitrambalam! Eventhough this is a bit out of 'Amba-context'...i would like to say that I too love Thirumantiram and I wish to keep my experiences under wraps though as I dont believe in clinging to experiences(it just creates a subtle ego in me) Also Iam half-baked before compared to greats! But the point i want to make is a reading of thirumantiram is very satisfying to one and all. Ramakrishna mutt publications have come with a english trasnlation of this. Shiva is a great deity and once Amba whispered in my ears " Without devotion to Appa one is not complete " ...i did not know what to do...i just ran and bought four packets of aavin milk and pured on the lingas kept outside of the garbhagriha of kapaleeswara and also i placed a bilva leaf and flowers on the feet of the 63 nayanmars in the temples(aruvathimuuvar). Shiva is too much for my imagination so to speak! If Rajarjeshwari devi is my Meiyammai Esaa sarvesaa is my meiappan! However appa is a bit strict!(though many think he is very bhole with many words describing him like anbe shivam!)...I have experienced his strict baton and later his loving embrace too!(but the baton was really painful!)So, I prefer to remain to remain with the love of my compassionate motherAmba who is ever-forgiving!(I really cant understand why people are afraid of amba and tell me stories like she is a " kainkaari daa! " ...yes she has a divine kainkarya and in that respect she is a kaaainkaari!....Kainkaari indeed! sitthar sivanodu adaa adaa! Sengayar kanmaniodu adaa adaa! Subodhanum inbathil adaa adaa! Guest guest
Dear Members, For those who do not know Tamil let me translate this verse which our esteemed member has posted from Thirumantiram Seeva nenna siva nennave rillai Seeva naarsiva naarai arigilaar Seeva naarsiva naarai arinthapin Seeva naarsiva naayittu iruppare.(2017th verse in Thirumantiram) This comes in Tantra seven under Bodhan(Lord as giver of light of jnana)..Maybe this verse struck him seeing my name as 'su-bodhan'! This means Jiva and siva Seperate are not Jiva knows not siva; when jiva knows siva jiva becomes siva. (Jiva and saiva are one and the same and the with the knowledge of siva, jiva becomes siva) Very succintly put. But this attains completion in another verse from the same great text in Tantra 6 under the grace of Guru's feet...verse 1595 Thirumoolar did not believe in things like 'inner guru' without first having an external guru in the form of Nandi(not to be confused with either siva or the bull which siva rides but a rishi in kailasha who was thirumoolar's Guru) So, this verse which goes like this, expounds how a jiva is transformed into siva Pechatra inbatthu peraanandathile! Maasatra ennai sivamaakki maalvithu! Kosatra sothi kandanmoondrunkaikondu! Vaaccha pugalmaala thaasthanthu mannume'! He(Guru) cleansed me of my blemishes, Transformed me shivam-supreme, And immersed me into His bliss infinite; Bliss that is beyond, beyond words(pechatra!) The fire of His grace scorches not Yet drank dry the three seas of my impurities(Agam, puram, kaamam) And annihilating my primal ego to its traces He granted me His Feet of Grace; And there does He abide, forever,in me Om sree Rajagopala Anandanaathya namaha(My offerings of sweet love to my Guru's feet!) And I might add another verse from Thirumantiram which is as much a shaktha text as is it is shaiva. This verse is from Tantra 4, verse 1243 under Aadharavadeyam(Support & Supported) Navirunan Mantiram Nanmalar Dhoopam Kavariya kandankavarntheri deebam, Payittrum ulaginir Paarpathi poosai Avikonda sothikor Archanai thaane'! Shakthi worship is shiva worship Chant her holy mantra Worship with flowers fragrant Burn the incense, Light the multi-flamed lamp, Thus perform the worship of Rajarajeshwaree; The oblations that you do in archana offer Are for the Lord of Divine light as well. According to me, Here her holy mantra refers not just to panchadasi mantra but her constant remmeberance in good and bad. Flowers fragrant refer not to japakusuma and jasmine but justful thoughts worthy for her Saffron lotus feet. Burning the incense means not just burning the black stem of Herbs mixed with sandal but to burn the black stem of ego within. Lighting the multi-flamed lamp not just means the lighting the pancha-deepa but to light the panchabhutha deepa inside you my dear members. When this is done then She,the empress of the universe who is one with the Lord of Light(parashivam here) will accept those offerings with a smile and this is the same as offering these to shiva who is infact She in his yin-form. Though this explantion of a seemingly simple statement made by thirumoolar by me seems to be farfetched I still stick to my words! Anbe shivam Shivame shaaktham! Yours yogically, Shreeram Balijepalli Rajarajeshwari_Kalpataru , nama siva <nama_sivam> wrote: > seevan enna sivan enna verillai > seevanar sivanarai arikilar > seevanar sivanarai arinthapin > seevanar sivanaittu iruppare > > ----thirumanthiram > --- para_anuloma <para_anuloma> wrote: > > > Dear Members, > > > > Sivane potri sivandiyen potri! > > Thiruchitrambalam! > > > > Eventhough this is a bit out of 'Amba-context'...i > > would like to say > > that I too love Thirumantiram and I wish to keep my > > experiences > > under wraps though as I dont believe in clinging to > > experiences(it > > just creates a subtle ego in me) Also Iam half-baked > > before compared > > to greats! > > > > But the point i want to make is a reading of > > thirumantiram is very > > satisfying to one and all.
