Guest guest
Dear Member, One member has asked me personally over an email whether Gayathri Devi is Vishwamitra's daughter. He says that as Brahmin I might be having more knowledge on this deity. First let me make it clear to you my being a brahmin or not makes no difference. Infact I dont do gayathri upasana except do my sandhyavandana as I got my mahameru. Also one who is behind Brahman anveshana can be rightfully called brahmin and not just because he closes his nose and chants gayathri mantra. I might sound a bit harsh. But truth is also bitter at times and as I always say. I rather die with the spit of truth than with the ambrosia of lies. Gayathri is not the daughter of Vishwamitra if what you seek is a physical relationship. She is called " Shiva nartaki " and " vishwamitraputri " in various texts but only symbolically. The deity was in existence even before Vishwamitra. It was vishwamitra who brought out her secret hidden mantra and bijas. The gayathri mantra which we kaliyuga manavas know is not really the original gayathri mantra which vishwamitra formed.(Neither is it parorajasi mantra). It is just savithri mantra in gayathri chandas and hence is known as gaythri mantra according to one sampradaya before Yaagnavalkya and who then made this the gayathri mantra. Also, some of my own experiences co-incide with this. Iam not saying this from the book aghora. Things written by Robert Svoboda is not for sensationalism but inciting curiosity and making atleast one persue the path with secrecy and passion. One funny story doing rounds is(even a shivaji ganesan film also bears the same story)....that vishamitra created gayathri from his wounds!!..this howler comes from the wrong use of tamil. I have great respect respect for Tamil and myself read lot of siddha texts of shiva and shaktha from the language but misuse of a language is another story which will not be pardoned by me. Gayathri...than gayathaye thiriaaga viathu pusai seidhadhaal gayathri (Vishwamitra kept his wounds as the 'thiri' for the lamp and did penance and got gayathri!).....thus goes the 'thaathparya' for gayathri matha in some Tamil circles. I was agahst at such stories! Language is beautiful but fanatism is not. Ultimately it all boils to a eka-vija and a single maatrhika akashara and then even that is removed then why this hullabulla over languages..pray tell me my friend? It is like saying in telugu ''Raamuduthokaa peevarnudu " (Rama's tail is the colour of faeces!) instead of ''Raamudutho kapivarnudu " (rama accompanied by hanuman). A small change here and there and the entire truth is distorted...just imagine how many stories have been distorted thus! Raamudutho kapivarnudu! Shreeram(please leave my tail intact!..hehe!)
