This is yet another way of explaining the complexities of the laws

governing the cosmos. According to the Sri-Vidya system, there are nine

Vidyas. These are what you may call siddhis or sometimes it may be

referred to as the forms of the Goddess. These forms are given the

female form because they are meant to be Vidyas (which in itself is a

'female' word in Sanskrit).

You are right to think that they are all the same. This is just a

further granularity provided in the religion in achieving some set

abilities for people that follow Sri-Vidya as well as Tantrik forms of

worship. Each vidya is the manifestation of the goddess but has a

particular form of vidya attached to it.

There are some beautiful explanations done by Shreeram Ballajipalli in

this group. He writes under names of either para_anuloma or the

group_owner. Try looking for messages from the summer of 2005.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Anand

[Rajarajeshwari_Kalpataru] Help in understanding Devi

Dear Members,

I am a new member of this group and also new to Devi Worship.

In this initial stages, I have some doubt about the names of Devi's

and much confused. My problem is I have seen many names of Devi i.e,

Rajarajeshwari, Annapurna, Bhuvaneshwari, Tara, Amba, Shyamala and so

on and some people take a name and some other take another name of

devi for worship.

I request members not to take it as an offense or so, but my question

is a sincere one. If anyone feel something wrong in my question please

pardon me.

I am clear about the concepts of Devi Saraswati, Devi Lakshmi and Devi

Parvati. I also understand that Lalita Tripurasundari Devi is the

combined shakti of the said Trinity. But I am not clear about all the

other names.

Can anyone help me.

Regards,

Kannan
