Guest guest
To all of us it is resonably clear that killing of animals either as a sacrifice or to simply satisfy our taste buds generates bad karma. However, to many 'Hindus' , eating meat is no different from eating vegetables. In the Christian world too, not a thought is given to it. In Islam, however, as I had mentioned earlier, each slaughter is an offering to Allah and only such meat - halal, pure, - meat is to be consumed by Muslims, who are forbidden to eat meat of animals slaughtered by any other method/means. With such a large number of humans making such huge offerings to Allah everyday, one wonders what is the effect of it on all those individuals and humankind. Is it possible that the 'strength' of Islam over the centuries in spreading all over the world is partly derived from the 'power' generated by pleasing their 'deity' in such manner? We may call Muslims 'Asurs', but the hard fact is they have, until recently, been growing and dominating in an unprecedented manner. What about application of the law of Karma to them? To the average person, 'vegetarian' beliefs based on Satvic Gods, appear to be incapable of standing upto the 'tamasic' domination of Islamic ways and beliefs. That is one reason why many have taken to Islam over a thousand years. While it is good to know that our beliefs and practices do not genarate bad karma, it equally important to realise that God has also allowed a far greater majority of humans to believe in and follow completly opposite religions/sects. They not only scoff at us and our Gods but also actively, and even succesfully, get many of us to shed them and embrace their own dogmatic practices. I think there is a need, now more than ever, to engage with others and try to make them see Light as we see it. Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars.
