Guest guest
Dear Sarita Didi, Here is some more info. According to another source the story goes like this... Uraiur was once the capital of the Chola kings, History says that once Lord Shiva got angry with the people here and cursed them to get destroyed by Sand-rain and turbulent wind. It became a reality and people feared and suffered by the nature. On seeing this a saint by name Sarama Munivar felt worried and intended to help the people safely, he prayed to Sri Vekkaliamman regarding this, on hearing his request the Amman showered her blessing on the people and saved them from the natures anger and Lord Shiva's curse. And she declared that she will have the roofing only when all the people of this town gets the same. The uniqueness of this temple is that their is no roof to cover the presiding deity the Vekkaliamman. It is believed that worshipping her will solve the housing problems, people planning to built or buy a house will perform worship to her. In general all fridays are special, in particular the fridays of the tamil month Aadi will be more special. Yours yogically, Shreeram Balijepalli Purity, Powers, Parabrahmam...
