Guest guest
Dear Member, Lalitha sahasranama needs a guru initiation, I have discussed it lot of times(please see my previous messages). So does any other stotra like trishati or Khadgamala(connected to srividya tantra). But these days people see online sites and do it on their own and reap the consequences. Sriyantra or Mahameru also likewise neds a guru sprasha deeksha for it to manifest the divinity else it is just an aritifact made out of five metals or crystal. Many people buy crystal mahameru but unless one gets it mathematically precise(which is difficult if you get tiny ones being marketed even on telemarketing) one will not reap any benefit except an euphoric sense of satisfaction that one is doing something great. Reading books, quoting scriptures, following rituals do not a spiritual devotee make. One needs a fire inside and a person to constantly stoke that fire. The 'fire-stoker' is the Guru and the fire is 'guru bhakthi'. These days Astrologers tell all sorts of 'remedies' to 'set-right' planets little knowing that the planets control them. Most of them dole out something to make a quick buck or two or to sound pompous. The field of astrology is filled with pompous asses and they make a fool of others and themselves too(karmically by bearing other people's karmas). To get a Guru one must have fire. Just a small trip to India will not buy you spirituality. Excuse my harshness of words here but that is the trend which many westerners have imparted to Indians too. Many NRIs think they can buy a Guru or two and that their Mokshas are sealed like their green cards or H1 visas. Mokshas for sale! Anybody? Regarding Unmani: There is a Tamil saying: 'Kandavar vindilar, Vindavar kandilar'. This means that 'One who has seen never talks and who talks has never seen'. State of Unmani is a divinely ecstatic('mad) state which has the pleasure of a thousand orgasms(to put it very grossly) and it is like asking a person how was the 'Beethoven symphony' All you can say is some technical garbage if you know western classical music or you can simply say 'great' ...but has it exactly conveyed what you felt inside?....State of Unmani is like that....and does one manage it?.....well, this again is not some 'drug high' to be managed! or told about....for that matter even drug kick cannot be told in words. So, I would sympathise with people who did not revea; to you how their unmani state was and if anyone did, I would laugh at them for they are blatantly lying. The proof of the pudding lies in the eating. Instead of asking such questions one should make a sincere search for experiential things. God is a matter of experience not a subject of the mind! What is mind? Never matter! What is matter?, Never mind!
