Dear Shaaktha Prabhanjakas, (Yogic meditation stick used to place one's hands while doing the rounds on rosary or under

one's chin to place the merudanda(spinal cord) in place) Last posting I stopped in suspense mentioning about how even a yogic danda was being worshipped. Actually the yogic danda is of a special quality of wood found in Indian forests(Devadaaru vrisha-Indian Deodar tree). Swamiji has encapsulated the yogic danda in silver and kept it beside the main vigraha to be worshipped. Why? We shall see presently. Sri Rajagopala Swami considers Sri Perumal Reddy and Sri Govinda Reddy(See part of this series) to be the cause of His birth. Therefore every year out of gratitude He goes to Kumarakuppam and performs Gurupuja To both these yogis(on behalf of His parents as they were His parent's gurus). In one such occasion the Yogic Danda of Sri Sorrakkai swami(see part 1 again) was found in the house of Sri Govinda Reddy. With great reverence and respect, Swami brought it to Nanganallur and installed it as an object of great spiritual presence in Sarvamangala Rajarajeshwari Ashramam. But no public announcements were made of this installation ceremony as is Swamiji's nature. Just a simple 'prathisthapana'(installation ceremony done with a few priests and a small japa before the stick behind closed doors by Swami. So no one even noticed the yogic stick lying there near the idol. Evenotherwise the sanctum sanctorum of any Devi temple in South built as per Agama shastra or Srividya Tantra(as is the case of Nanganallur temple) has not enough light excepting a big Bhadra deepa which shows the Idol's rupa. Since the yogic danda lay in an

inconspicous corner, no one noticed it much. So that day Swami's devotees and disciples came to the Ashram, as usual, suspecting nothing. All had the darshan of Rajarajeshwari Devi to their heart's content. Among the bevy of devotees, one young boy alone kept looking at the stick for a while and asked one of the disciples whether it was the yogic danda of Sorakkai Swami? The attendent said "Yes" and the boy walked down the steps of the temple smiling and went out of the Ashrama. Suddenly the

attendent came to his senses "How did the boy know about this stick? and that too that it was Sorrakkai Swami's. Who was this boy who was never seen in the vicinity or a regular visitor.?" The attendant rushed to Swami Rajagopala suspecting something divine and told Him what happened. Swamiji got up from His seat and blurted out right away " Oh! Why didn't you tell me right away? I too would have had the darshan of Sri Sorakkai Swami"!! (To be continued...) At His holy feet, Om Sampradaya Yoginyai Namaha! Yours yogically, Shreeram Balijepalli
