Dear Shaktha Prabhavas, Guru is a ‘tattva’ (philosophy). This tattva that is Guru is a matter to be experienced (‘anubhava’) and is not one to be comprehended through mere word of mouth or writings or discoursing. A Mahatma by name Gnãnãnanda lived in Tirukkovilur tapovanam. None knew his ‘poorva charitra’ (past life) just as in the case of Yogiramsuratkumar who used to utter something now and then about his past life. Shirdi Saibaba’s past life is also not known. Some used to say that he (Gnãnãnanda) was from Kashmir and that he was 200 years old. Some said that he was 150 years old. But, none knew wherefrom he came and where he stayed. Everyone used to ask him, “Please tell us about your Guru!” Immediately he would shed tears and ask, “Guru! Should I speak about by my

Guru?” He would choke and would not be able to speak any further. He would become silent. He would always react only in this manner when asked about his Guru. This is a kind of Guru Bhakti. Hamsasoham! Hamsasoham! Last part I stopped with the story saying I will reveal as to how the main idol was created. This part we will see that and many other interesting

things. The stone out of which the main idol was formed was out of a blackish green stone which had green emerald and gold streaks. As usual Amba said such a stone can be found in a particular place and that it should be given to a particular Sthapathy(Divine idol maker of an ancient tradition). It was found and done and the main idol which adorns the garbha griha(sanctum sanctorum) is that blissful emerald and gold streaked blackish green stone idol. She is seated on top of the sacred steps in Meruprasthara bindu sthana.Beside Her is seated, the Gem that floated on fire. She is the one who was born from the sacred fire of a Mahashodasi Yagna. While the former stays put in the sanctum sanctorum, the latter goes out on ceremonial occasions and great celebrations. Infront of theese two forms of the Great Mother, you see the Mahameru, made from five metals including gold. This is a scale model as well as a miniature abode of the various forces of Godess in an evolving structure having the supreme at the top and leading to the boundary between the worlds of angels and the world of mortals at the bottom. In addition, the Divine weapons of the Great Goddess are also installed in an appropriate likeness of their forms which also lead the procession during ceremonial occasions. Behind the Great Mother is the yogic danda of Sorakkai swami. For the sake of bestowing on the disciples and devotees of Rajarajeshwari Amba all manner of well-being(sarvamangala), the Divine Mother's presence is made manifest through the mantras and yantras of Sarvamangala. Further to bring answers to their prayers, Her presence is also made manifest as Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Mahendri, Chamunda, Manonmani and Mahalakshmi. The yantras for these too have been installed at secret locations in the temple and regular puja for the yantras is being donw in an austere way. During the month when the sun is in

sidereal Virgo and on the day the moon is in the asterism of Vishaka, is the time for the greatest celebration and worship at this ashrama. On such day as we had seen in past poostings, She came in the form of a big Gem and also on this day was swamiji born! During the month when the sun is in the scorpio and on the fifth lunar day of the bright fortnight, the Divine Gem which got converted into an idol is given a sacred bath in the Varunadhanvanthari well. Every year, during the celebration of the sacred nine nights, navaratri, dasamahavidhya homas are performed with great solemnity and scriptural perfection. Now, gently focus inward in your mind's eye the bliss face of Rajarajeshwari Amba. Next posting, I will narrate some more interesting things about the temple. (To be continued...) At His holy feet,

Sacchidekam Brahma Swaha! Yours yogically, Shreeram Balijepalli
