Question on Gayatri & Srividya Upasana

Hi All,

Let Ambal forgive this Agnyan Vidyarthi for asking this question. Please note that my intention and questions are no way related to Vamachara, and I kindly request you not to take my perception otherwise. We all know that the first and foremost Upadesha given to a Brahman is the " Brahmopadesha " ( " Initiation of Gayatri into the Brahman). Also shastras say that Gayatri is the supreme of all mantras, and there is no mantra necessary for a Brahmin other than Gayatri mantra. My question on this is when Gayatri mantra itself fulfills all the manokamyas of Manushya, then

(a) Why should one get initiated into Srividya upasana ?

(b) Why Srividya upasana is being refused to all Brahmanas who have got Brahmopadesha (even though those Brahmanas are eligible & are interested in getting initiated into Srividya Upasana) ?

Thanks

You can ask freely about any topic from Vamachara to samaychara or

even arcane concepts like Mishrachara or asuankachara.

Brahmopadesha =upadesha brahmaiva iti=that which gives the essence

of " brahman " .

It does not mean Gayathri updesha.

You have assumed(I will not blame you) that Gayahtri is alone

brahman. Brahman is higher than Gayathtri and Gayathri is just a

tool to reach that not an end in itself.

True. But what we are doing right now or know of right now...Om Bhur

Bhuvaha swaha(or suvaha).....etc is not the original Gayathri

mantra. The original Gayathri mantra got lost.

what we have is the savitri mantra in the gayathri chandas which is

called Chandoktha Gayathri mantra which slowly gained accceptance as

Gayathri mantra

Also, the meaning is metaphorical.

gAYANTHAM TRAAYATHE ITI GAYATHRI===A mantra which saves one

who " sings " it or recites it. It does not mean " Bhur bhuvaha swaha

(or suvaha)... "

Also, Shastras say certain things to emphasise the importance. It

has to be understood in the proper sense.

Even Lord Shiva says in the shastras " Shastras say that a dip in

Holy Ganges will remove all sins but many sinners are there in Kasi

itself and will go to hell after their death. "

The essence and the sara should be taken not the outer shell which

means tuppence in spirituality.

Why should one get initiated into Srividya upasana?...Hmm good

question.

why at all then indulge in Gayathri mantra when Brahman is niruguna?

Also panchadasi is called yoga gayathri mantra. And brahma gayathri

mantra also includes Panchadasi aksharas.

Srividya is the highest path as per many shastras and also shastras

say that one recitation of panchadasi is 16 times reciting gayathri

mantra.

So what do you have to say for this?

I do not know where you got the idea that brahmins are being refused

Srividya Upasana especially when they have got the brahmopadesha!!

Infact one needs Gayathri mantra sadhana to even think about

Srividya.

Many are " refused " as you say because they dont have the necessary

purity.

One needs to go through many rigours to get initiated into Srividya.

Good things are not got easy.

Secondly even westerners are given initiation by my Gurunatha seeing

the levels of the individuals. It is all one-to-one thing and not as

a community of brahmopadeshikas being refused.

Srividya marga is a savya marga and very pleasing way to approach

Devi.

Why did you not pose the same question for Shiva or Narayana? why do

shiva or narayana mantras if one has Gayathri?

It all is based on Karmic inclinations and personal cants(leanings)

toward a particular deity or path. You cannot prescribe parochial

terms and straighline everyone into one way by quoting " shastras " .

Because for every " right saying " of a shaastra there is also

a " wrong saying " (Right and being being parameters of human

perception)

Hope you see the light now......

Jaya Gayathri Mantra jyothi Pinda!
