Guest guest
I have visited the Datta temples in Pithapuram, near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh & recently we went to Kshetra Gangapur near Gulbarga in Karnataka.I was greatly attracted to Lord Datta after reading the Guru Charitra.I was terribly disappionted at the appaling state of these temples.Rank poverty seems to be the order of the people there. The temples are in very bad shape.Looting the visitors by one & all seems the order of the day.No proper lights, streets, accomodation, lodging seen.I was just wondering how all this cud happen with thousands of devotees all over the world building new temples in their locations BUT sadly neglecting the original sites mentioned in the scriptures.I feel that a congregation of all devotees shud be held in these places & funds raised for renovation & maintainance of these historic temples. The Bhima & amaraja rivers confluence & the Aswatha (peepal) tree under which Lord Nrisimha Saraswathi sat makes Gangapur a very special place that every devotee of Lord Dattatreya MUST VISIT at least once in one's life time. The atmosphere is very serene & one can meditate for long hours to realise oneself.-----Fight back spam!
