Dear divine members of the group!

Pranams!

Very powerful days are there for us to get powerful blessings very easily by visiting Ganagapur kshetra. The days are BHEEMA RIVER PUSHKARAMS. The details of the PUshkara and dates are mentioned in this mail.

Even today also, Shri Nrusimha Saraswathy swamy Maharaj (the second incarnation of Lord Dattatreya) is still visiting the Ganagapur kshetra (in secret) every day and performing his ANUSHTAN on the banks of Bheema river and taking Bhiksha in that kshetra everyday. He was promised to the villagers of the Ganagapur at the time of his anthardhana about his regular visit to Ganagapur.. One can see these words in SHree Gurucharitra. The river will have more power during the PUshkara days and the kshetra where Bhima river is there is concerned to Shreeguru, "DAANA" in any form during these pushkara days will give "VISESHA PHALA".

BHEEMA RIVER PUSHKARAMS

In India, there are 12 important pious rivers; Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, Narmada, Godavari, Kaveri, Sindu, Pramada, Tamraparri, Krishnaveni, Bhima and Tunga Bhadra.

Of these, this year BHEEMA RIVER had its time for Pushkarams when Bruhaspati enters Vrischika, it is time for Bheema Pushkarams. A special power will be there for the concerned river during the Pushkara days. The Bheema PUshkaras will starts from 27.10.2006 and ends with 08.11.2006. The Brihaspathi enters into Vrischika raasi at 10.20pm of 27.10.2006, Friday. The Guru power of one's will be increased by having bath in Bhima river during these pushkara days.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BHIMA RIVER: .

The river Bheema had its origin in Bheema Shankar Jyothirlinga of Maharaashtra and reaches Ganagapur of Karnataka and merges in Krishna river. One of the Datta avatara, Sri Nrusimha Saraswati Swamy spent most of his time on the banks of river Bheema at Ganagapur in Karnataka state and hence the river is dearer to Lord Dattatreya. Ganagapura is most important place for Narasimha Saraswati Swamy. Bhima is one of the tributary of Krishna. He ended his Avatara at the bank of Krishna river i.e., at Kadalivana of Shrisailam. Because of all these incidents, the river Bheema had its importance as a powerful and pious river.

PUSHKARA DAYS-IMPORTANCE:

Legend has it that a brahmin by name Pushkara did penance and obtained from Lord Shiva the boon of remaining in water form- Jalamayatva siddhi - one of the eight forms of Shiva. This gave power to Pushkara to purify all the rivers or tirthas for the benefit of the mankind. He made Brahma's kamandal as his abode. Brihaspathi, teacher of devatas, prays Brahma and requests him to grant him the boon of constant company of Pushkara with him during his zodiacal transit. Brihaspathi moves from one raasi to the other every year and takes 12 years to complete one zodiacal cycle. He agains gets back to the first house or raasi. When Brihaspathi (Jupiter) transits from one raasi to the other every year and casts his eye from one river to the other, Pushkara Purusha would be with him in the first 12 days (Aadi Pushkara) and the last 12 days (Antya Pushkara). Brahma makes this arrangement and convinces Pushkara Purusha thus, according to mythology. When Brihaspathi enters Mesha raasi Ganga gets pushkarams, when he enters Vrishabha raasi Rewa gets Pushkarams, on enetering Mithuna, Saraswathi gets pushkarams, when he enters Karkata raasi, Yamuna gets pushkarams, when he enters Simha raasi, Godavari gets pushkarams, when transits Kanya raasi, Krishnaveni gets Pushkarams, when he enters Tula, Cauvery gets Pushkarams, when transiting Vrischikam, Bhima gets pushkarams, when he enters Dhanasu, Pushkaravahini gets pushkarams, when he enters Makara, Tunga gets pushkarams, when Brihaspathi enters Kumbha raasi, Sindhu gets pushkarams, and when he enters Meena raasi, Praneeta gets Pushkarams.

The Pushkara days are considered as very auspicious and the belief is that the river waters are sanctified with the presence of the Trinity, the Hindu Pantheon of Gods, angels, sages, Maharshis and Rishis along with the Pushkara Purusha. A holy dip in the river hence is believed to purify the mortals during these days which are called as `Aadi Pushkara'. The last 12 days when Jupiter leaves the raasi are called as `Antya Pushkaras' and are considered equally important.

The offerings (pinda sraddhas) made to the departed souls during pushkara days are believed to bestow peace and prosperity to the mortals and salvation to the departed.

Annadana , Hiranya dana etc., during these BHEEMA Pushkara days are the main sources for MOKSHA MAARGA.The power of Bheema river- SHree Guru Charitra:

The importance and the power of Bheema river was explained in Shree Gurucharitra. The contents about the river is mentioned below…..

Bhima-Amarja Sangam at Gangapur, is very sacred. There are Koti Theerthas there. The Aswatha Tree at Gangapur is as powerful as tha KalpaVriksha. Near the Aswatha Tree is Narasimha Teertha, and northwards to it are the PapaVinasini Teertha, Varanasi Teertha, Rudrapada Teertha, Chakra Teertha, Koti Teertha, manmadha Teertha etc. There is the Kalleshwara temple there. It is holy as Gokarna.

Each river having it's Pushkara in it's own cycle. A bath in the respective rivers at the Pushkara time is most auspicious. Man gains his spiritual evolution thereby. Whoever bathes in the Bhima-Krishna rivers confluence, he becomes purified .
