UT from 8.18 Pm to 2.24 AM on Sunday

IST from 1.48 AM to 7.54 AM on Sunday

EST USA from 3.18 PM to 9.24 PM on Saturday

CST USA from 2.18 PM to 8.24 PM on Saturday.

 

Kethu Grastha Chandra Grahanam. Kethu is Dragon Tail , Descending

Lunar Node.

Kethu is Brother of Raahu or can be considered as the caudal portion

of Raahu where as

Raahu is Dragon Head , Ascending Lunar Node.

Both Raahu and Kethu are sons of Kashyapa and Simhika.

Originally they are one only but Severed by Mohini Avathaar of Lord

Vishnu.

Because they were betrayed by Ravi and Chandra , raahu and Kethu

periodically take revenge

on Ravi and Chandra.

Kethu Grastha Chandra GrahaNam starts from the lower aspect of Lunar

Disc in

Poorva PhalguNi (Pubba) Nakshathra in Simha (LEO) Raasi. As ordained

by Rishis,

People who are born under that Star better they do Navagraha Japam

and avoid exposure to

GrahaNam and also Women who are in first trimester of pregnancy

better avoid Eclipsed

Moon for fear of teratogenic effects on the baby like a Cleft Lip.

This may not be

scientifically substantiated but I am only passing on lore of

millenia passed down from

Vedic Sages to our fore fathers.

As per Astronomers this total lunar eclipse is seen all over the

world at one time or another.

 

Chandra , Sasi, Soma is manifest as two births - first as the Eldest

Son of Athri and Anasooya

as a Brahma Amsa Sambhhotha and second as a brother of MahaLakshmi

from the Milky

Ocean at the time of Ksheera Saagara Madhanam.Chandra is an

AATHREYASA.

He fell in love with Thaara and begat Mercury (BUDDHA) who became a

student of

Deva Guru Bruhaspathi. Buddha married ILaDevi daughter of Manu and

thereby started

Chandra Vamsa Dynasty of Kings.

Chandra further married daughters of Daksha , but was very fond of

ROHINI which upset

Daksha who made Chandra go through phases of darkness and brightness

once in a fortnight.

Aapa( water=VaruN) is Chandra's AdhiDevatha and GAURI is His

PrathyadhiDevatha.

Chandra is Karkaataka Rasi Addhipathi and has no enemies

Chandra started as a separate planet but was captured by Mother Earth

for giving Humanity

reflected light during the bright half Sukla Paksha of Month

Now on 2007.03.03 for about six hours the reflected glory of Moon

will be masked by

Mother Earth. So those who beleive may pray for Chandra and also

KETHU , Nava Grahas.
