Dear Brother Srinivas, The above image is the answer to your question. She is the 20 armed Chakrasri Devi wrongly iconolcasted as a Buddhist deity by the Archeological department as buddhist deity. She is a Rajarajeshwari devi amsa and Garuda adorns Her feet in respect of the reference in Devi Bhagavatham(Chapter 12- Birth of Asthika Matha). ambA s.rShTavinAshapAlanakarI AryA visaMshobhitA gAyatrI praNavAkSharAm.rtarasaH pUrNAnusandhI k.rtA| oMkArI vinatAsutArcitapadA uddaNDadaityApahA cidrUpI paradevatA bhagavatI shrIrAjarAjeshvarI Mother Amba, You create, destroy and nurture the world, You

are Arya and Gayatri, You are devoid of adornment, You are full of the nectar of the ‘pranavakshara’ OM, You have separated the heaven and the earth, You are Omkari, Your feet has been adorned by the son of Vinata (Garuda), You destroy the imbecile demons, You are eternal bliss, You are above all, You are the Goddess, and You rule the Lords as Rajarajeshvari. The Tantrarajatantra says

that Varahi is the "father form", while Kurukulla is the "mother form" of the devata. Both Varahi and Kurukulla are connected with, but separate from the Sixteen Nityas (fifteen days of the bright fortnight plus Lalita herself). The following chapter of the Tantrarajatantra, translated into English for the first time, is devoted to the practice of the Varahi mantra and contains a number of prayogas. As with all other prayogas, a sadhaka is only qualified (adhikari) to perform these rites if (a) she or he is initiated, and (b) does the daily puja of Tripurasundari. Further, the commentary (not translated here) shows that there is a number of elements which have to be taken account of when performing prayogas. These include visualisation skills and also a knowledge of astrology (Hindu, sidereal version), before the rites will be successful.I wish to remain mum here as the sadhanas are very powerful and ushnakaaris. Now, why do I suddenly mention Varahi Devi? Because in the very same text, it is given in Chapter 23 that She has three eyes and seven arms which hold a discus, a conch, a hook, a lotus, a noose, and a club. She shows the (mudras) dispelling fear and granting boons. One should think of her as being comfortably seated on the shoulders of Garuda. In daily worship one should meditate on her and her Shaktis in this way. The 19000 verse long Garuda Purana also extols some other stories upon the connection of Garuda and Devi Ma.It is not essential that the moment Garuda is mentioned there is an underlying reference to Vishnu. For that matter even Hanuman who

is almost inseperable from Lord Rama has a different in Lord Surya Bhagavan Himself. The epic characters in Puranas were expansive and broadminded, we Kaliyuga Manavas are not parochial. Thankyou for pointing this out, I appreciate your sharpness to point this(otherwise missed point by many who might think akin). Jayosthu Paramba! Shreeram Balijepalli
