Dear Respected Sirs and Adiyens: I have several questions with respects to worship, what we can and can not do. I am a Sri Vaishnava, Vadagalai, Kousika Gothram. Presently I am doing Laghu Aaraadhanam daily. 1. Can we do worship to Vigraham. I have a Rajarajeshwari Statue made of bronze in addition to all the small silver krishna's, and 108 Sahligram Shilas. Can we do pooja to Rajarajeshwari? How are we meant to do this and do we have to install any such vigraha first. 2. I also have a Sudarshana with Yoga Nrishma on the back (both approximately 9 inches in height). How do we install this vigraha and can we do pooja to this one too? 3. I was told that there was additional Aaraadhanam if one has 108 Shaligram Shilas, is this true and does anyone know what else needs to be done? 4. I have been told that we do not need to do the entire Sankalpam everyday, is this correct?

Also does anyone have the correct version of Sankalpam? 5. Whilst doing Sandhya Vandanam as a srivaishnaivai do we say the following? My grandfather taught me, but over time I was given additional advise by others, so I do not know what is correct and what is not. Adityam tarpayami Somam tarpayami Angarakam tarpayami Budham tarpayami Brhaspatim tarpayami Sukram tarpayami Sanaischaram tarpayami Rahum tarpayami Ketum tarpayami Keshavam tarpayami Narayanam tarpayami Madhavam tarpayami Govindam tarpayami Vishnum tarpayami Madhusudanam tarpayami Trivikramam tarpayami Vamanam tarpayami Sridharam tarpayami Hrsikesam tarpayami Padmanabham tarpayami Damodaram tarpayami Sankalpam??? Mamopatta samasta duritaksayadvara sri paramesvara prityartham Morning : Pratah sandhya gayatri mahamantra japam karisye Noon : Madhyahnika

gayatrimahamantra japam karisye Evening : Sayam sandhya gayatrimahamantra japam karisye Thank you to everyone who will provide assistance in this matter, it is greatly appreciated. Sincerely Rangarajan

You can do worship to the vigraha most definitely. You can do the

worship as specified by Nanganallur temple(25 names given in this

group's file section) and offer naivedya.

Pranaprathisthaapana can be done in a normal way as I presume the

vigraha is a small one.

You may most certainly do for this too. However, you may wish to

concentrate on one force one shakthi.Eka Shakthi Eka Guru. Instead of

digging a hundred pits in search of water, it would be better if one

digs one deep well and strike water.

However, keeping an idol without doing puja, naivedya and other

formalties is not uchitha, so please perform worship to it and

consider your Guru's words on this matter.

to be done?

Keeping so many Shaligrama shilas will entail lot of

puja, naivedya, etc. You must consult Shaligrama Puja Vidhana

(Shaligrama Kosha) and is a subject in itself. However, no force can

prevent Rajarajeshwari devi from being kept near Shaligrama and

simultaneous worship modolaties to be performed for both.

of Sankalpam?

What do you mean by Sankalpam? For puja, japa or sandhya vandana? If

it is for sandhyavandana you are referring each Shaka of each veda

and each brahmin coming from each region in India have their own ways

of doing the sankalpa for sandhyavandana.

Each new puja, new mantra, each session of sandhyavandana must start

with a new sankalpa. Without sankalpa shuddhi one cannot embark on a

spiritual journey.

Puja is a matter of spirit, of soul, of a purpose(it might be a

Nishkaama or a sakaama mode. 99% of people are in the Sakaama mode,

with many saying they are doing things in Nishkaama but having a

heartful of torubles and desires before God). This being so, narrating

the sankalpa even if it is for the purpose of being desireless!

(purposeless purpose) must be said to affirm the spirit in oneself.

It also aids in guidance, purpose, focus on the particular mantra/puja

than a perfunctory chant of litanies.

This is fine but do consult your shaka(Vadagalai srivaishnava

sampradaya). I think there is an online site wherein they have

narrated the whole of sandhyavandana of your particular sampradaya in

detail and even with images. Please do follow it.

You may look at this site for more information

http://www.srivaishnavam.com/stotras/prata_sandhya.htm

One need not leave one's sampradayas or change one's faith to worship

Rajarajeshwari Devi. One will become more spiritual, more of a

Vaishnava by worshipping Her.

" Within a Shaaktha,Outwardly a Shaiva, in the world a Vaishnava.This

is the rule. Liberation comes from the knowledge of the self. "
