Guest guest
Dear Srinivasan Avargale, I hope you have eaten Appalam(Poppadum) and so the solution to your problem is as easy as eating an Appalam! Please read the below a playful poem of Sri Ramana Maharshi Song of Poppadum No need about the world to roamAnd suffer from depression;Make poppadum within the homeAccording to the lessonOf 'Thou art That', without compare,The Unique Word, unspoken'Tis not by speech it will declare. The silence is unbrokenOf Him who is the Adept-Sage,The great Apotheosis,With His eternal heritageThat Being-Wisdom-Bliss is.Make poppadum and after making fry,Eat, so your cravings you may satisfy. The grain which is the black gram's yield,The so-called self or ego,Grown in the body's fertile fieldOf five-fold sheaths, put intoThe roller-mill made out of stone,Which is the search for Wisdom,The 'Who am I?'. 'Tis thus aloneThe Self will gain its freedom. This must be crushed to finest dustAnd ground up into fragmentsAs being the non-self, so mustWe shatter our attachments.--------------------------> Try to crush your ego as much as possible.(Ofcourse total annihilation is impossible)...In an appalam, you do find the flour, however it is crushed fully but quite thin.Have a thin sheath of ego necessary for your material life, nothing more than that....Ulzhundhu irrukkum Ayinum melisaagaa!Make poppadum and after making fry,Eat, so your cravings you may satisfy.Mix the juice of square-stemmed vine,This associationWith Holy Men. With this combine-------------------------------> For your negative traits and habits to go away develop association with Holy people(not influential and powerful people)...Pirandai pozhadhu Satsangham enbadhu! Within the preparationSome cummin-seed of mind-control....Jeeragagam pondradhu mandhai adhuppil vaipaadhhu! And pepper for restrainingThe wayward senses, with them roll...Mizhagu pondradhu ainpuzhangalai addukkuvadhu...surr endru erum mizhagin kaaram...surr endru irrukkum addukumthanmai...ayinum undambirkku mizhagu nalladhu, manathirkku idhu namai tharum! That salt which is remainingIndifferent to the world we see,----> have a detached life With condiment of leaningsTowards a virtuous unity.-------->Be careful about whom you meet, and talk . These are their different meanings.Make poppadum and after making fry,Eat, so your cravings you may satisfy. The mixture into dough now blendAnd on the stone then place itOf mind, by tendencies hardened,And without ceasing paste itWith heavy strokes of the 'I-I' Delivered with the pestleOf introverted mind. SlowlyThe mind will cease to wrestle. Then roll out with the pin of peaceUpon the slab of Brahman.Continue effort without ceaseWith energetic élan.Make poppadum and after making fry,Eat, so your cravings you may satisfy. The poppadum or soul's now fitTo put into the fry-pan,The one infinite symbol itOf the great Silence, which canBe first prepared by putting inSome clarified fresh butterOf the Supreme. And now beginTo heat it till it sputter,On Wisdom's self-effulgent flameFry poppadum, 'I', as That.Enjoying all alone the same;Which bliss we ever aim at.Make poppadum of self and after eat;Of Perfect Peace then you will be replete. Guest guest
Dear Srinivasan Avargale, You may do the Tri-Kala-Sandhyavandana and may do an extra round of Gayathri Mantram. Apart from this, you may get a small idol(Angulapramanam-3 inches or so) of Rajarajeshwari Devi.Place Her on a Bananaleaf everyday(new banana leaf everyday) and do Abhishekam with milk, honey, raisins and fruits mixture(Panchamurtham) with the 25 names which you can find in our files section. Chant Rajarajeshwari Ashtottaram in the end and partake the panchamurtha-prasadam daily. Do thus twice per day with Dhoopam, deepam and aarathi. Try to do this simple procedure for one Mandala(7 weeks). And then after the mandala, if you are still desirous of serious Srividya worship--Contact Sri Rajagopala Anandanathar my Gurunathar in Nangainallur Sri Sarvamangala Rajarajeshwari Ashramam, He will guide you form thenceforth. You will see that you will not only nurture good thoughts but also that your sins of many births including this birth vanish by Srividya practice and mantra-japa.Place faith on Rajarajeshwari Devi and visit the tmeple in Nangainallur as often as possible. Cultivation of good thoughts comes by a mental resolve.Mantras and pujas aid to an extent but one must always be on the watch out for bad thoughtsin the mind. Thoughts are the seeds and actions are the trees which sprout from the seeds, so if you plant weed-seeds, you get only a weed-plant/tree, so try to plant a Kalpataru-seed and obtain a Kalpataru- vruksham, which will save you and your 7 generations(ascendent and descendent) fruitfully. The moment some bad thought assails your mind, chant "OM SHREE MATHRE' NAMAHA!", If the thought dominates too much chant the mantra aloud.Dont fear anything or be embarrassed that people might make fun of you. Ultimately it is you who bera your own 'sin-crosses' not them. mana Eva manushyAnAm kAraNam bandhamOkshayO: I bhandhAya vishayAsangi mukthyai nirvishayam mana: II" [ vi.pu.6-7-28] [Mind is the reason for both samsara and moksha. If our mind wanders around the worldly pleasures we remain in samsara whereas when it gets involved in bhagavat vishaya it paves the path to moksha] Thereby it is very clear that controlling the mind is very essential. It acts as the door between us and Devi. If it opens then we will reach the lord else remain in samsara. Mind has a unstable nature ('sanchalam hi mana: Krishna' says arjuna in bhagavat geetha). (kadhavu manamendRum kAnalAmendRum it is said in Tamil) "Athmaiva hyAthmanO bandhu: Athmaiva riputAthmana" (geetha 6-5) [Mind is at times athma's friend and at times athma's enemy] So all advices can be heard and read but ultimately your soul decides what is best for itself. That is why I refrain from giving advices and just guide gently or show certain truth. Be fearless, Be pure, Be happy and every joyous! May 2008 usher in spiritual joy and material abundance to you.
