Guest guest
Dear brother Shreeram, Thank you verymuch for your help. I did ring to swamiji and prayed him to help me in learning Shreechakra puja. He said the ashram has published a book to help new sadhakas to do the archana and I can easily follow that.Probably that is the same book you have mentioned in your previous mail. Is it available in Telugu also? He said I can come to the ashram at any time to get upadesha. Now again I request you to guide me. How can I prepare myself before getting the initiation? I am very much eager to go there this week itself. But I thought its better to take your advise. please suggest me .. 1.The niyamas I should follow before I get initiation to get more ARHATHA 2.The time....wether any auspicious day I should look for to get initiation 3. The procedure..the way I should follow ( like the offerings I have to carry there as per the tradition) to get initiation. Also, if you have no objection, please tell us how you met him first time and your Experience to motivate us. Kishore
Guest guest
Dear Brother, There is no preparation for the initiation. This is not a college course which requires a prerequisite course! Just be yourself, take a strong resolve that you will do the mantra/puja come what may and whereever you might be, even while travelling. The srichakra book is also available in Telugu. Niyamas are very simple and commonsensical. 1. Vegetarianism(Swamy insists all his disciples be vegetarians). 2. No immoral behaviour. 3. No alcohol. 4. Practising the mantra daily. Auspicious Time: He will take care of it.'You are not getting the mantra, he is giving it to you.'There is a subtle difference in the statement. The first part portrays ego and the second His ahetuki- kripa. The way:Go with fruits, flowers, coconut, kumkuma, betel leaves, betel nuts, turmeric, few coins{Tambula for short} and also some Guru Dakshina (say rs.1008). ------------------- My experience and first meeting Him: I had been to the tmeple as a small kid once but without being aware of the greatness of the temple. Then, while I was studying in my high school(11th std), I tried to read Lalitha Shasranama and felt a goad- like thing being pushed onto the back of my neck. Each time, I tried to read it, the goad went deep and sort of made me highly uncomfortable. I did not know what was happening and went to some knowledgable person but He was of no help. Later, I came to know it was Nakuleshwari(a deity under Rajarajeshwari devi) who was preventing me from reading Lalitha Sahasranama without Panchadasi initiation. Now, one might think , " I know so many people who read the litany without any initiation and they are fine " .I would say for this: " Each human has his/her set of experiences " .Iam thankful to Devi for being kind and considerate in my case and using Her divine dispensation to place me in the right path bereft of any past encumberances. Independent, if not alien, objectivity of the universe is a mere theory; but that each conscious centre, every appreciative individual, 'lives, moves, and has his being' in a universe of his/her own selection and acceptance is an indisputable fact. To him/her therefore the theoretical objectivity of an alien universe is of much less practical account than the fact that he/she has his own universe to live and function in.This is where, the philosophy and practice of Srividya Tantra delivers its special meaning and message to a world sunk low in material and spiritual confusion. With these thoughts and aspirations, I climbed the steps of the inner- garbha griha of the temple. The very first 'real' darshan made me have goosebumps all over. I could feel a hand churning from the idol in my heart region and removing some black magma. This went on for fifteen minutes and luckily, there was no rush so I pretended to chant some mantra before the deity lest the priest asks me to move and give way. After sometime the churnng stopped and this made me curious about the temple.I came down the steps and started reading some granite slab edicts with the Lalitha Sahsranama and other mantras etched.(Now it has been removed after the temple has been renovated with polished granite). As I was reading, Swamy came down suddenly and said in Tamil " I will give you a mantra, will you accept it? " I said " Ok sure, please give me(presently) " He laughed and said, " No not so soon. Take your mother's permission and come on Pournami with your aged parents with some Tambula and some Guru-dakshina " . I said ok and took His pada-namaskara and came out of the temple. As I was alighting my bike, one lady came and said " You are lucky, He is not an ordinary man(though he looks like that) but a great Yogi and your day has been made, nay your life has been made. " I smiled and kicked my bike's starter and turned back and the lady was nowhere to be seen!I realized one more thing: How did She know about our conversation? I just rationalized then that: 'oh maybe I did not notice her standing behind or somewhere'.(Which is an obviously erroneous conclusion as you must be aware) I then went home and asked my Amma " Amma ayana naaku mantram istharu anta, nenu teesukonaa? " (Mother, He said He will give me the mantra, shall I take it?) (After narrating to her the whole episode) She denied and said " No, I dont want to lose you as a sanyaasi!I already lost one son physically(my elder brother died at the age of 13 chanting the name of Lord shiva and that was a major shock to my old mother) " I had to beg her and plead with her for long convincing her with various proofs and evidences of existing upasakas that I can be in grihasthaashrama and yet practice his Maha-vidya. Finally she allowed and we all went on pournami and she got herself assured and allayed of her fears once more from Swamy that there will be no implied monkhood/sanyasa by doing the mantra.(She became frightened when Swamy proffered me directly a high mantra in Srividya without the initial preparatory mantras like Bala, ganapathi, etc). My parents too were initiated into many many mantras from their Guru, so they knew all about this. After receiving the shakthi-patha sahasrara-sparsha-deeksha from Swamy Rajagopala Anandanatha,my sweet guru, there was no turning back. I had many a experience(Srividya related) till date and which I generally discuss only with my Gurunatha and no one else. So go with a peaceful mind and leave everything to Him.He will take care.In the upasana of Srichakra are harmonized the personal and impersonal aspects of Brahman. Ritual and meditation lead to the knowledge of oneness, having gained which one attains to Supreme peace and ecstasy(Ullasa-sthithi).The sadhaka transcends all vrittis and realizes in the Bindu-chakra,the Mother as the Supreme Essence (Mahamaha-tatwa) in whom the static or absolute and dynamic or manfesting aspects coalesce(prakasha-vimarsha-parabrahma-svarUpinI) and as the highest bliss(parAmritAshakthi).Realize this. This should be your goal. Forget vadas(discussions bordering on arguments) with atheists, iconoclasts and other people who deride idol worship and ritualistic worship. For they do not know many things. Be at peace.A cool mind will yield bountiful results.
