Pranam, Anna and all. Thanks for the replies. It was just a surprise learning of this sadhana. By Her grace, it was an opportunity to learn of something new. I read of this from a group called Vandenikhilam. Your reply was very thorough, Anna. Thank you.

(Below are my personal ramblings on the issue)

Yes, there are different kinds of Apsara Sadhanas mentioned in various texts like Mantramahodadhi, Mantramaharnava and various other tantras.The Apsaras who can be made manifest and satisfy many a transient human desire are :Menaka,Thilotthama ,Ratipriya, Manjusthala, Rambha,Anangamek hala,Pushpadeha, etc

 

Frankly speaking, all these sadhanas are a waste of time.The time spent on such sadhanas can be better diverted to chant a few more rounds of Amba's mantras.

 

 

Most of the sites for a few bucks more(Siddhashram is no exception.However, I respect Nikhileshwarananda there(Dr.Shrimali) as He is authentic.) keep propogandizing about such sadhanas as the Kama-vancha( sexual desire) in humans are more.They get attracted to such sadhanas.

Dangers involved in Apsara sadhanas:

1. If the Apsara is not considered as one's mother and prayed just for some spiritual guidance but rather invoked for sexual gratification, the person becoming a lunatic is imminent(Apsaravyom a tantra)

2. The sadhana reethi won't succeed unless directed by a proper Tantric adept and a proper initiation ritual which involves sitting in the middle of a Yantra mandala drawn by red-rice.Only very few know this procedure.(The mantras, the yantras supplied by popular sites are wrong and laughable. They have concocted some nonsense in the name of Apasara sadhana mantras and kept it there to make people interested, tittilate them and get the "dough")

 

3. Some sites, claim that by doing this sadhana, one gets a beautiful wife.This utter nonsense as the sadhana IS FOR the manifestation of the Apasara Ma and then asking Her to grant some guidance regarding a spiritual matter.For example:I did the Manjualambika Apsara sadhana to get the whereabouts of a particular siddhapurusha and how to contact Him.That was all.

4.Please note that the Apsaras are to be considered as mothers.Their ages might be anywhere between Lakhs of years to even crores of years(Millions/ billions of years) yet they look very young and can appear in any form you want them just like Yakshinis.This being so, asking them petty things like:Please find me a beautiful wife or be my wife for a few days,etc is not only stupid but also not called for.

5. Though unlike Yakshini sadhana there are no actual dangers to one's wife, disinterst in family life, no attachment to spiritual matters all make the effort not worth it if the focus is for something else.

6.Some sites like "Sant Asaram" ji's sites also claim it as a panacea for even health problems and eternal youth fountain.This again is going on a wild-goose chase.

7.Apsaras have the power to even deliver a curse if the sadhana is not done properly or if they are displeased.This happens rarely because most of the times, the innocent people chant some distilled idiotic concotion which they think euphorically that they are on the right track, so it like this analogy:

Iam a tribal in a country like say Maldives** and plan to attack a country like say USA and am trying to create an atom bomb with sticks and stones.Will USA even care? USA will care squat for such things! Infact, 99.999% in USA dont even know where Maldives is! But I, the Maldevian tribal, think am doing something important and great and try to create a projectile and try to shoot it aiming it at USA with sticks and stones and shout on rooftops that am creating an Atombomb.

(**I have wholesome respect and regards for Maldives and have used to just to convey a point here)

The internet sites reel out some nonsense in the name of Apsara sadhana and try to sell their wares or make an internet presence.This is much akin to the tribal of Maldives trying to attack USA.The Apasaras in the Apsaralokas will not even be bothered.

 

Guru's guidance, PERMISSION,Blessing s, proper mantras,nyasyas, purascharana vidhi,kshera tarpana,Naivedyas, yantra mandala,worship place,kshetra, Mantramuhurtha, LUCK,etc are all needed to please an Apsara and gain a benefit out of it.

It simply is a waste of time which can be spent fruitfully on some other divine pursuit or reading Vishnu Sahasranama.

The other day someone who was studying for SAP came to me and kept on asking me about rare mantras and desite me revealing from different tantras and asking him to stay away, he kept on asking me.I said to him,"Please do Vishnu sahasranama" .He replied back that it was of not much use to him and that it is slow!

 

Vishnu Sahasranama( Bheeshma) is of great potency and unfortunately, these type of sadhanas(apsara, yakshini, vamachara tantra,etc) gain lot of publicity and lure people to dangerous and fruitless pursuits.

I convey my heartfelt pity to such people that they waste their human birth.

Manushyatwa, Mumukshatwa, Mahapurusha- ashraya.. .*sigh*!
