[Srividya-Tantra] Gayathri Mantra-Query-Part 4

Dear brother Shreeram,

Namasthe. Thanks for the excellent narration. I too started doing sandhyavandana as instructed by Guruji.But I have some doubts to get cleared, so requesting your guidence.

1) some times Its becoming very difficult for me to reach home early in the evenings because of some work in my office.In those cases, when its not genunely possible to perform, can I do MANASIKA way? Is there any restriction of time after which we should not perform?

2) In case of asuddhi due to incidents like birth or death, what should be done

3)If we are doing srividya mantra japa, is there any relation with the number of gayathri japa to the srividya manthra?

4) and lastly, the mudras ahown are different for different people. How to know the exact mudras? and also somebody said sapoddhara is must for Gayatri. somebody says not necessary for sandyavandana.

Kindly take some time for me and help me by clarifying these doubts.

Persuant to the three parts, this part, I will concentrate on Akhanda Gayatri Sadhana and other aspects.

Akhanda Gayatri Sadhana is a small Sahasra Gayatri anushtana done to ward off evils and sufferings at a personal,family and even societal level as is appropriate.

Gayatri mantra is chanted 1008 times a day for 49 days(7 weeks-a Mandala period).

Every day a Khumbam with water is installed before the sadhaka and He/She does the Sahasra Gayatri with an intent in mind looking at the Khumbam and then at the end of the sadhana, the water is sprinkled on oneself and others and given as a holy sacrament to all in the family to be ingested.Gayatri image/photo or idol can be placed and appropriate puja and naivedyam can also be offered.This is a powerful way to get rid of a pending problem which has no solution. Gayatri Matha will Herself take care of the problem.

Guru's blessings are required for the success of this small anushtana.

Sandhyavanadana cleans on a day-to-basis the pap-shreera in the sadhaka.Infact the sins committed over the night are cleaned in the morning sandhyavandana, the sins from morning to afternoon are cleaned by the Madhyaanika and the sins from afternoon to evening are cleaned by the evening sandhyavandana.

Now sins mean here, even the negative vibrations accumulated by even the smallest asoucha.Thus, sandhyavandana is a cleansing exercise to keep the body pure to do further sadhanas.This is the bedrock, however it is not all.One must progress beyond too, however, when even this is not known, then it is hard to proceed.

For any sadhana one must know certain things.

1. A cleansing ritual

2. An evil-eye removal(sadhana- drushti) ritual

3. Proper ritualistic pattern for the sadhana.

Sandhyavandanam serves for the first two purposes in a simple yet highly effective manner.It creates a protective mantraical grid around the true sadhaka.

One must learn this properly and do it with utmost faith even if circumstances are very negative.

If done with a proper understanding of the meanings(without feeling intellectuallly superior while doing it),with faith, in humility, by the directions of a Guru, for the prupose of attaining Brahman, one NEED NOT WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING.Everything will be taken care of by Gayathri Matha.

I hope you enjoyed this narrative and will take proper steps to start sandhyavandanam and Gayathri sadhana with right earnestness and not make it a "Few days" affair as you have mentioned and wait for further inspiration( which by the way will never come)

Do what you know and slowly you will be guided by the fire to know what to do.
