Dear Brother Shreeram,

 

why in kamakhya animal sacrifice is done to ambal over there? recently i saw video in youtube where they kill animal very cruely its heart bearing, they are killing pegions as vegetables.. and read in one article published in paper where one minister peformed Dashamahavidya pooja, where they sacrificied 19 buffaloes and 240 goats where they took 3 days to kill the goats and buffaloes. Shreeram ji why these animal are sacrificed for ambal? As ambal is praised as "Aa brahma keeta janani"( lalitha sahasranamam) & Aa brahmaadi pipilikaanta janani( meenakshi pancharatna) as she is mother to brahma to an tiny insect and read in other book of kodungallur bhagavathy s temple history, where they are mentioning where Lord Parashurama offered 108 cocks and liquor to Bhadrakali.

Those are Adhama-margas(Vama-margas) and nothing to do with Dakshinachara Samayachara Srividya marga.Samayachara aims at reaching beyond the three Gunas beginning with Satva. Vaama is Tamasic where as Mishra is Rajasic.

 

Lakshmidhara says Vama Tantras deal only with Moolaadhaara Chakra and awakening Kundalini.

 

There is a ritual in Tantra which you might be aware of called the Panchamakara(the ritual of the 5 "Ma"s-Matsya,Maithuna,Mamsa,Mudra and Madhu).

 

Uttarakaulas used to practice this in a literal fashion by killing animals and eating it for meat(Mamsa kriya in the Panchamakara). Poorvakaulas used to do it symbolically with the help of substitutes.

 

Sadhana for Uttarakaulas involves just the waking up of kundalini with Yoni puja, Chakra puja etc. The Siddhi obtained in this path is called 'Kshana mukti'('Kshana' means momentary or temporary). This is because just awakening Kundalini is said to be Moksha here, which is not correct as there are states beyond Kundalini awakening in the general sense we know.

 

There are various sectsunder Vamachara. Kapalikas follow Chandrajnana, Hridbheda, Bhairavashtaka, Panchamrita, Sarvajnanottara, Mahakalimata, Arunesha, Medinisha, Vikuntakeshava and other Tantras. Vamacharis, in the strict sense follow Vamajushta, Mahadeva, Veena, Kalasana, Sambhoga Yakhsini, Kubjika and other Tantras. Kshapanikas and Digambaras follow Purava-Daksha-Uttara-niruttara-vimala-vimalottara-devimata and other Tantras.

 

These Tantras expound some practices, which are obscene,degenerating, and are condemned by the Vedas.The Tantra path of external rituals as practiced by Uttarakaulas(of immature minds and hearts) involved several practices, which were antinomian andoutlandish in character.They involved

 

1.Panchamakara: Use of five things forbidden in decent society (liquor, meat, fish, promiscuous sexual congress and Mudra)

 

2.Baseless sexual mysticism

 

3.Religious debauchery

 

4.Licentious living in the name of religion

 

5.Pious rejection of all conventional norms and constraints

 

6. Black magic and repulsive sorcery.

 

Getting inebriated in the Bhairavi Chakra and indulging in uninhabited carnal satisfactions to the accompaniment of weird rites in total defiance of social prescriptions, nocturnal adventures in the crematoria with rituals associated with corpses and goblins, resorting to perilous practices of witchcraft and sorcery such as the six occult deeds or Shatkarma and the employment of mantras towards covetous and unrighteous ends characterized the Tantra for these cults.

 

Consequently all these lores of Parasurama killing cocks and offering liquor to Kodungallur Bhagavathy has been concoted by middle men to satisfy thier palates. Do you think the author of Parasurama Kalpataru(a base text for Srividya) would stoop to such low-levels?

 

Even hypothetically, we assume that Rishis of yore used to offer meat, some texts say that the Rishis used to first consult the animals whether they were willing to give up their lives and they used to promise them(animals) that even before the sword fell, their prana would lift off their bodies and they would gain a higher birth.And it is said that they used to readily agree to this sanguine proposition.

 

However, I feel the methods which Rishis had were quite advanced and esoteric and involved a higher form of worship and not these baseless acts of violence toward animals.

 

DEVI NEVER ASKS FOR SUCH FORMS OF WORSHIP.ANIMALS,FLORA AND FAUNA ARE AS AS IMPORTANT TO HER AND HER CHILDREN AS WE ARE TO HER.

 

Worship modalities are thus based on where the devotee stands as per the chakra alignment. If the devotee stands in the Mooladhara-base chakra such base emotions come into play and thus his nature tends to such worship.Ofcourse there might be deeper explanations too based on one's vasanas and previous births.

 

Samayins do not worship the lower six Chakras. The actual worship is in the Sahasrara. The lunar disc in the middle of Sahasrara is the Chaturashra and the Bindu in its centre is the supreme Sadakhya Kala which transcends all the twenty-five Tatvas.

 

This Supreme Tatva represents the undifferentiated union of Sadashiva and Parashakti. The modes of external worship like Shodasha Upachara etc. are irrelevant and unnecessary.

 

The secret of the Samaya doctrine lies in the realization of the four identities.

1. Identity between the six Chakras in the body and the six Chakras ofthe Srichakra.2. Identity between Sahasrara and the Chaturashra containing the Bindu.3. Identity between Shiva and Devi.4. Identity between Srichakra and Srividya Mantra.These are high esoteric concepts which require the initiation by a competent Srividya adept and high levels of upasana.

 

So, our School(Rajarajeshwari of Nanganallur temple-Guhananda Mandali-Dakshinamurthy Sampradaya) has nothing to do with such lower level practices.

 

One more thing, all Devis are one in essence but the worship modalities of Kali,Kamakhya,Kodungallur Bhagavathy and Rajarajeshwari definitely differ.

 

It is unfortunate that even in the great Brahmsri Chidananda Guru School, as predicted by Him(that the members of His school would degenrate into the panchamakara rituals), have adopted a medley of kaula practices too into the most scared Samayachara path.

 

As you rightly said Amba "Yaa brahmaadi Pipeelikaantha Janani''(Mother of the minute ant to Lord Brahma). Maybe in those days they did not have elector microscopes to discern organisms tinier than ants and thus 'anukreemis'(microscopic organisms) were left out of perview.Maybe it can be modifed as '' Yaa Brahmaadi Anukreemaatha Janani''!

 

Would anyone dare to hurt Her child to make Her happy?
