Guest guest
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, The biggest hindrance of any upasana is our dear friend " doubt " . There are few things which I guess will make it interesting to discuss: 1. How do we keep it up at bay? 2. Fire in the belly attitude is a myth and is often overcome or washed away by our dear friend, " doubt " 3. What is the " tenacity " of our dear friend " doubt " ? 4. Do we require miracles to wash away, our dear friend " doubt " ? Happy discussion! May All be Happy and Peaceful! Vivek
Guest guest
Dear Vivek, " Doubt " is not a friend but an enemy to our Sadhana. " Faith " and " Shraddha " are the real friends. How do you keep an enemy at bay? By not giving strength to it(by thinking about it in this case), by avoiding it, by association with righteous minded spiritual people, by constant reading of scriptural and spiritual books, by having a positive attitude, by attracting positivity into life by the tool of positive focus(the crux of Law of attraction as being taught these days), by the Grace of one's Guru and God. Fire in the belly attitude is not a myth.It is there for material things and relevant in those cases.Aspirative fire in the heart is what is needed for spirituality. It is a different kind of fire.Fire in the belly gives you a competitive edge and makes you material and wants you to win at all costs.Wheras the aspirative fire in the heart when cultivated carefully and in a discerning manner through meditation, dhaarana, guruseva, punyashravana, punyatheertha darshana and other sadmargas would liberate a person from shackles of birth and death. It makes one transcend automatically, bereft of the ego-component. The enemy " doubt " has no tenacity. It is verily the brother of Mother Maya, who has fangs without teeth, who hisses without poision, who frightens without substance. " Doubt " and " Fear " are sibling-demons which impede the progress of a sadhaka. " Doubt " has no capacity or tenacity of its own, except that which is given by you.The more you focus on " doubt " and other negatives, the more they manifest in you. The very human birth is a miracle, the very question putforth by you by your discerning mind which seeks God is a miracle, the very existence is bliss and verily a miracle. When so many miracles are within you and exist in a supreme fashion, is an external entity or tool needed to wash it away? or can it really? The only " miracle " which can " wash " it is the " soap " of Gnana whereby the filth called " doubt " gets washed. How does it get washed away? by cultivation of what is called " Faith " Eachtime you want something negative to be off, you have to switch on the positive. There is no point in brooding over the negative. One must strive to concentrate on the opposite quality which is there...and then go beyond that too, as that too is maya. If you are driving a car and you dont like the music which is coming in the car, say from a radio or a CD Player..what do you do? Do you keep hearing it or switch it off or turn to something better. Most probably you will switch the station off or turn it to another station or flip the disc over or change the disc to another disc.Same is the case with " doubt " , each time this assails you, think of people who have succeeded, read spiritually uplifting books,do something but dont hear that " bad music " But the concentration toward the opposite of an undesirable thing is the first step. Yours yogically, Shreeram Balijepalli Shaktheyem , " Kluber " <vivekkvn wrote: > > My Dear Brothers and Sisters, > > The biggest hindrance of any upasana is our dear friend " doubt " . > > There are few things which I guess will make it interesting to discuss: > > 1.
