Guest guest
This is a video-bit from the Telugu Film " Sapthapadi " taken by K.Vishwanath.The scene is where a Telugu Brahmin priest of the Amaravathy Amba Alayam(Guntur) marries and enters the room for nuptials but all he sees is Divine Mother there. The reason being that his wife, without his knowledge, was in love with another man before the marriage and thus she appears divine to him.('parastrI'-Woman apart from one's wife is considered to be divine Mother representation and should not be seen with lustful eyes and this rule comes into play even if it is one's legally wedded wife. She becomes only a kalatrA but not ardhAnginI is beautifully brought out in this scene.) The litany of AdishankarA -- " Ayigiri Nandini " is sung by SPB in the most apt fashion though cinematic at places. Happy viewing!
