Namaste everyone,

I think Kochu Menon had a great idea about telling one

another a little bit about ourselves. I seriously

doubt that there are any hackers, perverts, or

stalkers in this chat group so I'll be open.

My name is Shyam Joshua Wazir. I was born on July 17,

1980. I AM CANADIAN!!! I am interested in

Saiva/Tantric spirituality plus I love things that are

usually considered wierd, strange, and not normal. I

love music; I listen to everything from Nine Inch

Nails, Tool, and Tori Amos, to Eastern artists like

Pankaj Udas, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I also like a

little bit of gangsta rap like Eazy E, and DR. Dre.

Alternative music is more my schtick though ie; The

Cure, Morrissey, and Alice In Chains, Nirvana etc.

I'm interested in becoming a script writer and movie

director. My favourite film-makers are David Lynch

because he's unconventional, John Waters because he's

sick and twisted, Quentin Tarantino because I think

the way he displays excessive profanity eloquently

adulterated is sort of poetic-almost like Tamil or

Sanskrit. I also like Mani Ratnam (modern Hindi movies

usually suck, but Mani Ratnam knows how to tell a

story not only orally, but visually through images of

metaphor, and hidden foreshadowing.) Mani Ratnam's

film " Dil Se " should have made it to Cannes if you ask

me. I still have yet to see a Tamil film by Mani but I

don't think they come sub-titled. I want to tell

Subhash Ghai how pathetic and lame I think he is

because his film style is a gimmick to please all

audiences: it's cheesy enough to satisfy the kids and

old people in the audience, romantic enough enough for

the lovers in the theatre, artistically designed to

perfection to get respect from other film-makers...in

other words Subhash Ghai is a mainstream gimmick

oriented sell-out. He does everything the right way

and it seems as merely an attempt to cash in at the

box office. And my verdict is SUBHASH GHAI SUCKS!

I'm a born and raised Saivite, and I'm fascinated by

the Kapalika and Kalamukha aghora lineages of

Tantrism, mostly because I think wandering around

naked in a cemetery praying to God is the ultimate

slap in the face to Brahminical patriarchal orthodoxy.

Hmmmmmm, what else?

I read the book " Tirumantiram " as my personal bible

(for those of you that don't know, Tirumular, the

author of " Thirumantiram " was a brother disciple to

Rishi Patanjali who wrote the " Yoga Sutras " ).

Yeah, that's me. There's more but I'm tired because I

was party hopping last night till 5:00 am. Have a good

one people's!

Love Shyam. (I would praise Maa here but I don't

want another incident of someone whining about their

sentiments). Aaw f##k it, like I care...

JAI JAGAT JANANI MAA JAGADAMBE!!!!

Greetings All,

As per Kochu Menon's excellent suggestion, I will also provide some information about myself:

My name is Amina Perry, I live in NYC. I was drawn to Hinduism and to Saktism in particular after taking a religous studies course at college. Because I live in NYC, I have been lucky to be exposed to differing faiths. It was at a yoga center that I attended a kirtan presided over by Shree Maa. I am particularly interested in Durga and am teaching myself Sanskrit in order to perform Durga Puja in the origanal language.

Hello to everyone,

I was already online asking in formation about Mariamman.I love all yogic spiritual paths, but mostly those connected to Maa.

I have a Mariamman temple at my home and I organised the visit of Shree Maa to Belgium. (I also introduced Ammachi to a broad public in Belgium and I co-organised Her first visit.)

I have another question: in what way is the Tamil siddha tradition related to the worship of Ma ?
