dear all

we have observed that the devi forms that are calm and unaggressive like bhuvaneshwari, lalitha are seen sitting with their left foot hanging down, their right foot folded and kept on the peetam ; Whereas the more aggressive forms like Varahi, Bagulamukhi are seen sitting with their right foot hanging down and their left foot folded and kept on the peetam. any specific reason ?

9 forms of Kali

Would like to start a discussion forum on the nine forms of Kali and assimilate perspectives of bhaktas on the forum. Broad topic of discussion but will definitely widen knowledge base.

Dear Friends,

In respect to the nine forms of Kali, I would like to

add that Bhadrakali is the family deity of Lord

Krishna and She is the presiding deity at the shakti

pitham in Kurukshetra.

Lord Krishna had his mundan done at this temple and

had also offered a pair of horses for victory in the

Mahabharata.

Also, Frawley mentions that Bhadrakali is the

" auspicious " form of Kali and rules the heart chakra.

I would love to hear about the other forms of Kali as

well as any other information that the group may have

about Bhadrakali.

Best Wishes,

Sameer
