Guest guest
Dear Shaktas, I have come across an obscure reference to the Lord Shiva in a form known as Pashupati, 'Lord of Beasts'. Furthermore, as Pashupati, he is said to have assumed the shape of a 'mriga'. Can anyone kindly explain this word please, and is its gender male, female or neuter? Om Tara! Krishnadas.------
Guest guest
There is a large Pashupati madir in nepal. http://www.fesnepal.org/photo_archive/index.htm This link will show some photos. There is some information from another source i have DATTATREYA, THE IMMORTAL GURU, YOGIN AND AVATARA written by Antonio Rigopoulos There are various note in this text linking the teaching of Dattatreya with 'the Pasupatas' which is described as a 'lost Savaite sect' which 'courted dishonor.'. In the notes is stated the most up to date bibliography of the Pasupatas is Alberto pelissero, THE SOUL IS A GRAIN OF RICE: THE WAY OUT OF KARMAN IN ABHINAVAGUPTA'S PARAMARTHASARA. I realize that this does not answer your original question as to gender etc. but perhaps will start the search in the right direction. frankBhagavan Nityananda Darshan Gallery sriprankDo You ?
