Guest guest
sree mathre namah to all the group members, there has been a slight discussion raised among one of the members of the group on the significance of Goddess Lalitha Devi and Sri Raja Rajeswari and other such dieties, when seated keeping their left foot and right foot down. about this, i have clarified with my Guru and i learned thus. all the deities who are seated and put a leg down in such seating position, like the one we see in the normal Pancha Pretasana Sri Lalita Tripurasundari and a host of all such Deities, is called actually Virasana, a tipical form of Asana coming under the species of Sukhasanas. this asana show the pleaseant and the benifical attitude of the Deity. well, the real difference of the particularity of left or right leg being hung down is a particularity of the Goddess herself. All the deities including Lalita, Tripurasundari, Mukambica and all the host of Goddesses, hang their right foot down and left foot at the base of the pelvic girdle. But the differentiation comes only with Raja Rajeswari, Supreme Goddess or Mother or the Sriman Maharagnyi as described in Lalitha Sahasra Nama would put her left foot down and right foot up. this left foot also is kept in such a way that the thumb finger of the left leg is like kept in such a way indicating that with that finger, the Goddess is suppressing all the Worlds like Bhu, Bhuvar and Suvarlokas and host of all other lokas. i am indebted to the group member that it is his thirst for cognizance that i could also clarify this doubt and i am sure this clarifies lot of others too. I remain, always at the feet of my guru, Samvidananda Saktha Saravana Kumar.
