Vasantha Navaratri !!!

On the eve of the Vasantha Navaratri starting tomorrow, I wish all

the members

Shub Kamnayen !!!

There are five Navarathris devoted to the worship of MAA.

1. Sharad Navaratri- This is the Navaratri, which is celebrated

during Sharad Ruthu (Sept-Oct). This is also called Maha Navaratri.

Sharad became Sharada in some places.

This celebrates slaying of Mahishasura by MAA.

Observed in Most parts of India - especially in the East and South.

In South India some observe it as slaying of Bandasura.

2.Vasantha Navaratri- This is celebrated during Vasantha Ruthu (March-

April).

This Navaratri is celebrated in North India. Vaishno Devi temple in

Jammu

observes Navaratri during this period.

3. Ashada Navaratri- This Navaratri is particularly important for all

Upasakas

of MAA VARAHI- Celebrated in July-August. This is called Guhya

Navaratri in Himachal Pradesh.

4. Vanni Navaratri- Celebrated in the forest under a Vanni tree. I

assume it is mainly for MAA VANADURGA. I do not know whether this is

being celebrated now (Nov-Dec).

5. I have heard of a fifth Navaratri- but so far nobody has been able

to throw light on this.

I shall be glad if any of the readers can advise me about this.

The Navarathris are very important for all Sakthas.

The Navarathris are special periods during which prayers to MAA have

enhanced effect.

Let us pray to MAA for her Blessings.

Jai MAA KAALI !!!

Dear Family

Navaratri greetings

First of all I would like to express how much I enjoy being a part of this

family.

The present war torn situation in some parts of the world no doubt bothers a

lot of us. I have a suggestion.

As all devi bhakts we could as a family pray for world peace and for all

those suffering on one day during thisperiod of navaratri, synchronising the

most suitable times as we are scattered all over the world.

The other reason for this suggestion is (well a lateral thought again).:

In kalyug good and evil takes different forms, whilst evil forces are bound

by the common cause of perpetuating evil, there is a strong cohesiveness of

purpose for them.

The good people on the other hand are scattered all over and because of

their own circumstances are plagued with their own personal battles and

challenges( kalyug trials of good forces).

So the thought here is if on one day during this navaratri we all pray for

one hour at the same time (open to suggestions on what this should be but I

think the most simple one line chant for simplicity) and release that

goodness, energy out into the macrcosm and microcosm!!

It is almost like an empowerment exercise, say like 500 people doing a

yagna, a modern day one!!

Just a thought again!!!

Yagna Prayer...Will be done, thats great...

I am sure the energy generated will flow through our beings and will be released

into the universe.

I saw a wonderful sight in the western skies today with the 5 luminous planets

lighting up the skies...it was a magical moment and will be repeated only in

2040!!

I.ve only heard of four navarathris, the ashada navarathri, the sharadh

Navarathri, the Maka navarathri and the vasantha Navarathri, . I've not

heard of the vanni Navarathri, I would like to get more information on this.

Regarding Maka Navarathri, whoich you hve missed , falls in the month of

Maka corresponding to Feb-March. This is dedicated to MAA Raja syamala or

Mathangi.
