dear all

while, the navarathri dedicated to shyamala comes in the month of january /

february, i.e, starts on the amavasya day of thai tamil month, there is one more

navarathri in the month of february or march that is dedicated to nakuli

vageeswari, the anga/upanga devatha of shyamala. this is a very privy one, more

observed by those who are in Shyamala stage or pursuing Mathangi Vidya.

the other three being, ashada (ashada month amavasya), sharadha navarathri

(purattaasi amavasya) and vasantha navarathri (chithra month amavasya)

ashok sundaresan

I.ve only heard of four navarathris, the ashada navarathri, the sharadh

Navarathri, the Maka navarathri and the vasantha Navarathri, . I've not

heard of the vanni Navarathri, I would like to get more information on this.

Regarding Maka Navarathri, whoich you hve missed , falls in the month of

Maka corresponding to Feb-March. This is dedicated to MAA Raja syamala or

Mathangi.

Dear Ashok:

Thank you for this clarification. Could I ask for a

little more information? Specifically, you mention:

*** there is one more navarathri ... that is dedicated

to nakuli vageeswari, the anga/upanga devatha of

shyamala. this is a very privy one, more observed by

those who are in Shyamala stage or pursuing Mathangi

Vidya.***

Could you explain your phrase, " in Shyamala stage or

pursuing Mathangi Vidya " ?

Also, Radhika mentioned " Maka Navarathri, which ... is

dedicated to MAA Raja syamala or Mathangi. "

I assume she is referring to the same navarathri.

Could anyone tell me (a) how the dates of this

Navarathri are calculated; and/or (b) how it is

generally observed by the devotee?

Thank you for any assistance.

Aum Maatangyai Namahe
