sree mathre namah

dear all,

as the group is preempting over a topic and as ms. iyer is of the opinion to

start with a mahavidya and go on. i am of happied heart to see her interest in

dasa mahavidyas and all about them. it is really good but of course, as the

field we are discussing is tantra, scriptures, lay caution that we should

proceed with utmost care, dedication and belief in these matters. all these

matters look very conniving, controversial and spooky but their power had been

experienced and established beyond odubt by our peers, gurus and even us, for a

sincere one ofcourse.

i propose to discuss about Goddess Kali the first of the Dasa Mahavidyas and i

would like to share a few facts which i think i could share with people of

interest and belief in Goddess Kali. Goddess Kali is that form of Shakti or

Chaitanya or the activity that was there before the sristi or the world started.

she is often addressed as Vyoma Rupa (one of her highly secret Mantras

corroborates it) or Akasa Rupa. there is a hymn called Kali Karpura Stotra

which gives a lot about Goddess Kali. this stotra is told by Mahakala and is

taken from Rudra Yamala. this stotra gives her mantra and their bhedas or

variations and most importantly the description of her tattva or gyaana about

Her. Dakshina Kali is supposed to be the Main form of Kali and she holds a

Khappara (sword) and a freshly chopped hear oozing blood in her upper and lower

left hands and Abhaya and Vara mudras in her upper and lower right hands. these

suggest that She is giving the sadhaka assurance or abhaya that sh

e is going to break all the karmis and ritualistic ties relating to the 3

bodies of the Sadhaka and is giving the Boon or Vara that her sadhaka would

certainly be bereft of bodily attachments denoting the head with oozing blood.

Yoga says that the man's head get chopped when once he crosses the Rudra Grandhi

or Agna Chakra and Bindu above after which means that his buddhi or intellect to

congnize only would remain but not heart or mind for any emotions. She is the

Great mother who is ever interested to breast feed her Children with Bhakti and

Gyaana through her breasts which are full. she is all pervading and hence one

could not tie her in robes and so she is Digambara. her earlets are made of

corpse which signifies her sound could not reach mortals (people with 3

bodies-sthoola, sookshma and karana) and viceversa. she is adorned with the

garland of pure cognition or buddhi or viveka of her sadhakas which is denoted

by the garland of sculls. her waist and her guhya are cov

ered by the hands of her sadhakas who are protecting her, The Vidya, from

getting known to the unpracticed and uncapable. she is standing on Mahakala and

is ever interested to unite sexually with him with force. kama sastra says that

a sexual union dominated by female is told as Viparita Rati. this mahakala whose

position is in the Sahasrara and his phallus the Swayambhulinga is in the

Muladhara. what does this denote? that Maa Kaali is none but the Great force of

Kundalini who is crouching in the below Sahasrara, the Adhara in a 31/2 coiled

snake form.

Maa Kaali is the Female gender of Kala that is time. as one could analyse that

it is the Time which runs everything and it is the ultimate dimension ( Albert

Einstein retold what our ancient rshis proclaimed long ago)

well the above facts about Maa Kaali, one has to proceed with utmost care and

belief, lest this knowledge would appear nothing but a way for aggrandisement of

personal desires.

i would restrain from analysing her mantra as it is to be done only in between

a Guru and a sishya and not on a platform like this.

i hope we have started a discussion and we will continue this.

always at the feet of my guru,

saktha bandhu

Samvidaanandanatha Saktha.
