Guest guest
Swamiji was a Sannyasin who was a wondering monk for a number of years. He was living on alms. Once in Pudukkottai he was living only on a diet of neem leaves. For years he practiced Mauna Vratha. This resulted in his getting arrested by the police during his wanderings. He never wore any silk clothes or rathna keerita like some of the matathipathis. He represented the tradition of the wandering monk, which alas is now almost dead. In the homas he conducted all people irrespective of caste, creed, age and sex were asked to recite the mantras. All of them took the Sankalpa. This is totally against the practice of orthodoxy who never allowed the other castes to recite any mantras. Swamiji established the first Sannadhi for Maa Bhuvaneshwari in Pudukkottai. He was responsible for popularizing the worship of Maa Bhuvaneshwari in South India. He received the Suddha Bhuvaneshwari mantra from a Siddha. The Siddhas belonged to all castes, mostly the lower castes and their contribution to the development of Hinduism is yet to be acknowledged by the orthodoxy even today. He establishes the first Sannadhi for Maa AshtaDasa Bhuja Mahaalakshmi in Pudukkottai and Salem. This Murti is as per the Murthi Rahasya of Devi Mahatmyam. MAA here is MAA CHANDI of Devi Mahatmyam. Another Deity established by Swamiji was Swarna Akarshana Bhirava. Though the Dhyana sloka is in Rudra Yamala there was no Murti in any temple. It is believed that the Bhairava in Iluppakudi near Karaikudi is Swarna Akarshana Bhairava. Konkana Siddhar one of the 18 siddhas was a master of alchemy. In Iluppakdi Lord bhirava showed him that the highest purity in Gold is Jnana. Will be continued
